Gaming journalist Richard Lewis confirmed the speculation about the existence of Counter-Strike 2, which had previously appeared on the network. The basis for their occurrence was the files indicating the development of a new version of the shooter, included in the video drivers of the new version from Nvidia.
The reporter said that the Counter-Strike 2 beta will become available around March-April, and it is the development of this game that is the reason for the lack of CS:GO updates. To create a novelty, the Source 2 engine is used, while it will have some new mechanism for selecting players, so with the release of the novelty, third-party resources such as FACEIT will no longer be needed.
Valve has not yet made an official announcement of Counter-Strike 2.
