According to foreign media reports, Ubisoft has given the green light to the development of a new part of Splinter Cell . According to VGC , the new project "has been put into production to bring back fans who have been frustrated by the franchise's recent failed revival attempts" when Sam Fisher moved to virtual platforms and mobile devices.
It is currently unknown which studios are working on the project, but VGC assumes that Ubisoft Montreal, one of the largest and most famous companies, is not involved in the development. The game is said to be "early in production" but there is a "small chance" it could be announced as early as 2022.
It has been over 8 years since the release of the last main game in the Splinter Cell franchise: Blacklist. Fans who have been eagerly anticipating the return of Sam Fisher ever since have tried to slip the Splinter Cell designed for Oculus VR in September 2020. Over the past few years, there has been a lot of talk about resurrecting the franchise.
