Venom 2 is the highest-grossing film in Russian film distribution in 2021

The Film Distributor's Bulletin sums up the outgoing year in Russian film distribution. According to the organization, Venom 2 became the highest-grossing film of 2021 in Russia.

The UAIS published data indicating that as of November 18, the total box office of the film is 2,048,381 rubles. Second place went to the Russian fairy tale "The Last Hero: The Root of Evil", which collected 2,048,341 rubles.

The events of the second part of the blockbuster take place a year after the original. Journalist Eddie Brock and an alien symbiote struggle to adjust to living together. Eddie is confronted by serial killer Cletus Cassidy, who has become infected with the symbiote and become Carnage's host. The latter helps him avoid the death penalty and get out of prison.

At the global box office, the blockbuster grossed over $441 million, receiving 6 points on Kinopoisk and 6.3 on IMDb.
