Room 46 in Blue Prince - How to find

The main and, one might say, final goal in the game Blue Prince is to overcome the intricate corridors of the Mount Holly estate and find the hidden room 46. In this puzzle, you play as Simon, a 14-year-old boy who inherited the ancient Mount Holly estate from his rich grandfather. However, he will receive the inheritance only on one condition: he must find the mysterious room 46, hidden in the northern part of the building. There is one problem - every day the location of the corridors, rooms and doors changes. How to find your goal in this changeable labyrinth?

Prince guide, we'll take a detailed look at which path to take to reach Room 46. While I've tried to make the walkthrough as structured as possible, there may be spoilers for some puzzles. There are many ways to reach Room 46: with the right knowledge and a little luck, you can find it in just one day of play! However, in this guide, we'll focus on a strategy that minimizes the impact of the game's randomness. We can't control the randomness that will be in your favor, but we'll try to give you some useful tips that can be applied in any circumstance.

Before you begin, it is recommended to unlock as many permanent upgrades as possible. Although our guide will only require one of them, all the changes to the mansion will be useful to you, as they will provide additional starting resources and make it easier to access key rooms. Also, be sure to pay attention to the following items - Broken Lever, Batteries, Sledgehammer. These items can be combined to create an Energy Hammer - a powerful tool that will greatly simplify the exploration of the estate. With its help, you can destroy walls, finding hidden levers and passages, which will save you time and effort. However, remember that it is better to leave the Energy Hammer in the closet for later use!

Utility room, electrical panel, garage and door outside

The Outer Rooms are one of the permanent additions to Blue Prince , which become available after you complete the garage and storage room. With these rooms, you can unlock the western gate, allowing permanent access to the western path. It is also possible to open the garage door if the boiler is connected and power is supplied, although the probability of this happening is somewhat lower.

To get to the garage, you'll first need to build a utility room or storage room, which will require solving a puzzle with an electrical panel. Once built, open the panel and turn the garage switch to the ON position. If you add a garage to the layout in the same gameplay loop, you'll be able to open its door. Note that the garage can only be placed in the far west (left) column of the layout. Once inside, go to the garage door control panel located near the entrance. If the light on the switch is green, then power is on and the door is open. There are three keys under the panel. Next, head south, cross the river, and turn left at the fork. Here, you'll be able to open the western gate and permanently unlock the western path, allowing you to include the outer rooms in the layout.

The utility room is part of the Blue Prince circuit designed to control the power supply. By solving the electrical panel puzzle, you will be able to connect the garage to electricity. The panel includes the usual switches for regulating the flow of power and six buttons labeled "VAC Indicators". At first glance, these buttons do not seem important, but as with many things in Blue Prince , their presence is not accidental! There are three clues to solve the electrical panel puzzle, which can be found in the following places - the mail room, emails in the office, the ninth letter from the lab experiments.

To solve the puzzle, you need to arrange the VAC indicators in the following order: gray, blue, green, white, red, purple. To do this, press the buttons in the right order. Number the buttons from left to right from 1 to 6. Here is a step-by-step instruction:

  1. Set all buttons to green by pressing each one once.
  2. Press button 1 or 6 to make it blue.
  3. Select the green button next to the blue one to turn it red.
  4. Click the blue button to turn the red button purple.
  5. Click on the purple button to turn it blue again.
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 until five of the six buttons are blue.
  7. Click on the remaining blue button to move it one position.
  8. Click the grey button twice to turn it red.
  9. Click on the blue button next to the red one so it turns purple.
  10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 until five of the six buttons are purple.
  11. Click the grey button three times to turn it purple.
  12. Press button 4 once to make it white.
  13. Press button 5 so it turns blue.
  14. Press button 6 until it turns red.
  15. Press button 5 to turn button 6 purple.
  16. Press button 5 until it turns red.
  17. Press button 3 twice to turn it grey and button 2 to turn it blue.
  18. Press button 3 once to turn it back to green.
  19. Press button 1 until it turns grey.

Once these steps are completed, the VAC indicators on the panel should match the sequence shown, and the wall will rise, revealing the electrical panel. Interact with it to unlock the diamond upgrade, which will allow you to start the day with 2 diamonds. These rooms work similarly to the interior of the estate, as they need to be redesigned each day. The main goal is to find the Tomb.

Tomb

Inside the Tomb, you will encounter statues that must be activated in a specific order to progress. These statues resemble the stained glass windows found in the Chapel, and each one depicts a character with specific attributes. To activate the statues correctly, follow this order:

  • Gardener - wide-brimmed hat and hoe.
  • Chef - chef's hat and pizza shovel.
  • Farmer - cowboy hat and rake.
  • Chimney sweep - cylinder and brush.
  • Maid - cap and broom.
  • Jockey - riding helmet and whip.
  • Queen - crown and scepter.

Once you activate all the statues in the correct order, a hidden wall will open, leading to the Catacombs. Here, you'll encounter multiple coffins, a large arrow, and a statue of Draxus , a skeleton with a scythe. Interacting with his hand will open another hidden wall and lead you to the Abandoned Mine. Once you're in the mine, turn left to find a minecart. Move it all the way back. While this action won't have an immediate effect, it will come in handy later. After that, you can return to your daily quests, focusing your efforts on reaching the front rooms.

Lobby

To get to the Vestibule, you will need to unlock one or more doors facing east, south, or west. These doors are opened using levers hidden in the Secret Garden, Greenhouse, Great Hall, and other places.

To get the Secret Garden Key, you need to solve the dart puzzle in the Billiards Room. The Secret Garden Key opens the locked door on the east or west side of the mansion. Use this key to open the Secret Garden room by going through the locked door. According to the soil research, the rank 2 plot on the west side of the house in the barn in the apple orchard has been found to have barren soil. This will not hinder your progress, but it is better not to design the Green Room early in the game and focus on rooms that provide jewelry, keys, and food.

To open the Vestibule doors leading to the east, south and west, you will need the following levers:

  • East Door - Solve the puzzle with the Moon Statue in the Secret Garden.
  • South Door - Fix the lever in the Greenhouse.
  • The West Door is behind the locked doors in the Great Hall.

Each of these doors has additional levers hidden in other parts of the estate, and you will have to find them to continue progressing. Additional levers for the doors:

  • East Door - Behind the first "secondary" door in the Mechanarium .
  • South Door - Destroy the wall in the Training Room using the Energy Hammer.
  • Western Door - Destroy the brick wall in the Secret Garden using the same hammer.
  • North Door - Find the lever behind the throne in the Throne Room.

Before entering the Antechamber, make sure you have enough action points to overcome all the obstacles. You will need to unlock one of the doors in the Front Room, make your way to it, and open the basement with a key, which will also require strategy and timing.

Basement

In order to get through the basement, it is important to first open the door using the basement key. This key will open two doors in the estate: one at the base of the Foundation, and one at the bottom of the drained Fountain. This walkthrough describes the path through the Foundation.

The Foundation is one of the key rooms in Blue Prince that is different from the others because it stays in the same place every day. This room is rare to appear and should be taken if available as it is essential to completing the game. The Foundation is fixed to the grid and its location in the house is important. It can only appear in the three central columns and its rank affects the difficulty of the playthrough. If it is higher, it will be harder to get to, but you still need to visit it to complete the game. When the Foundation is lower, the path to it becomes shorter, but this can affect other routes in the game.

There is an elevator inside the Foundation, but it is too high. In order to lower the elevator, you need to design a room with a door that connects to one of the Foundation walls. After you activate the lever, return to the Foundation and ride the elevator down. This will give you access to a door with a red symbol, which can be opened with the Basement Key.

As you move through the basement, you will find yourself in a typical basement room with boxes, filing cabinets, and other items. It is important to note the lifts that are loaded with boxes, as well as a button located high up. In order to reach the button, you will need to move the lifts so that they form a passage in an L-shaped room. On the opposite side, there will be additional cabinets, boxes, and a ladder and ramp leading up.

To get to the stairs, you need to create a bridge between the two walls using platforms and lifts. Once the bridge is ready, go down the stairs and push the lift to the opposite wall, then lift it to create another passage. This new path will lead you to a button that will open a secret passage to the Reservoir.

If you have an energy hammer, head to the top of the L-shaped basement to destroy the dark section of brick wall. This will reveal a hidden passage leading to the area near the braziers.

How to open Room 46

Now when you get to the Reservoir, pay attention to the lake on the left, the train tracks ahead and the door on the right. Your goal is to go through the right door, behind which is a gear platform and a lever to rotate it. Turning the lever four times will not create a straight path, but will form a passage on the left side. Go through the door and follow the train tracks. Here you will again encounter the minecart that you moved in the previous stage. Turn the next lever five times to open a new path and reach the next lever.

After that, you need to turn the lever five more times and go through the new passage that appears. It may seem like a dead end, but there is a secret door here. Open it and you will find yourself on the train tracks.

Now return to the Entrance Hall and enter Room 46, completing the Blue Prince walkthrough . Even though this is technically the end of the game, there are still plenty of puzzles and riddles to solve in the estate.
