Common Problems and Errors in Kingdom Under Fire 2
When you start the game, you must understand that it is in the closed beta stage, so it is likely that there are various bugs and errors.
System requirements
First of all, compare your PC with the minimum system requirements of the game:
- Operating system: Windows 7/8 / 8.1;
- Processor: Intel Core i7;
- Video: 512 MB;
- Memory: 4 GB of RAM;
- Disk space: 10 GB;
- DirectX: version 9.
Problems with start
The main problems with the start of Kingdom Under Fire 2 occur during the installation. If, after installation, the game does not start, but issues an error «Critical error: error loading dll: XXXXX.dll error code ***, the specified module could not be found,» or similar, try to reinstall it, after disabling the antivirus. It can be mistakenly deleted or placed harmless files in quarantine during installation. It is also important to remember that the path to the game folder should contain only Latin characters and numbers: «D: \ Games \ Kingdom Under Fire 2».

Black screen

You should go to the path «Disk \ Game folder \ Kingdom Under Fire 2 \ Data \ Settings«. Find and open the file default.ini by Notepad. For editing, you may need administrator rights, in which case you need to first run the Notepad application as administrator.
IMPORTANT. If editing is not possible:
Click the file default.ini with the right mouse button and select «Properties». Uncheck «Read only» mode.
After opening the file, scroll down to the [videooption] section. This will display the default screen resolution of DisplayWidth = 1920, DisplayHeight = 1080. Correct these values to the optimal resolution of your monitor. ScreenMode parameter must be equal to one.
If it is zero, then the game may not see the monitor.
Problems with sound
If during the game the sound becomes muted or not worked — first check its presence in other annex. Then open the «Playback Devices» by right-clicking the speaker icon in the lower-right corner of the screen. Select the default audio device, and then open its properties. Go to the «Advanced» tab and set the sound quality to 24-bit, 96000 Hz (studio quality). Most likely the problem will be solved.
