How to Kill a Chaos Space Marine (Zarya) in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Frankly, the boss is extremely unbalanced in this situation. Considering all the previous opponents were surprisingly easy to a comical degree, this boss was surprisingly difficult.

Boss Chaos Space Marine Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader

Let's look at what he does in battle. First of all, there is a melee attack, the usual one with a sword, but with the additional ability “Dash”, like Abelard and Heinrichs. This ability allows him to attack characters with a burst of speed. There is also an ability that causes knockdown, depriving your character of one turn. Moreover, if the character has not yet completed his turn, he skips the current and next turns. It is important to note that a normal sword attack can also cause unconsciousness. The boss also has a Heavy Bolter, essentially a heavy machine gun that can fire 8 bullets at once, penetrating armor and flying through multiple targets.

This fight also has what appears to be an invisible timer. If the boss is not defeated before it expires, you will lose. This timer is not normal, and after 2-3 turns from the start of the battle, the Space Marine will begin to return and attack the shuttles. After this, only two shuttles will remain, and if they are destroyed, you will lose. What's even worse is that every time the boss destroys one of the shuttles, weak enemies appear, although they are more annoying than dangerous. And to make matters worse, there is a sniper in the northeast corner that, although far away, will hit even closed eyes, so you need your sniper before the battle even begins.

There are several strataegies that can alleviate the situation. First of all, it is important to understand that this enemy is reminiscent of the Berserker from other games: he is strong, but not very smart. He always attacks the character who attacked him last. Don't forget about it!

In terms of tactics, it is recommended to place Cassia or Idira on the eastern side of the map (near your starting position) to deal with the first group of normal enemies. Don't forget to take cover from the sniper! I then flanked the Chaos Marine to force him to move more often and spend action points. Argenta should be a little further away, and the main character should be closer or further away, depending on the weapon used. It is also useful to move the group (attracting the Space Marine's attention) to the northwest of the starting position, slightly past the destroyed shuttle, to make the sniper's job more difficult.

In this fight, it is important to pay attention to buffs and debuffs. They may differ slightly depending on the leveling of the Rogue Trader and other heroes. The combination of “Enemy Analysis”, “Joint Analysis” and “Vulnerability Identification”, upgraded from Idira, turns out to be especially useful. They should be used, and then attack the boss with a strong character.

As for Heinrichs, Iron Hand proves useful for increasing strength and endurance. Add to this the Nemesis skill for high damage. For cashichiya Cassia in the group, after destroying the normal enemies, use her buffs on the most powerful member of the team (probably Heinrichs or Abelard). As for Argenta and Rogue Trader, explosive shots with an increased rate of fire (being able to attack twice per turn) prove to be very useful. Abelar can act as a tank and his usage is similar to Heinrichs. Overall, this is a really tough fight.
