Profit Factor and Reputation in Warhammer: Rogue Trader

Essentially, you are asked to trade items with other factions. All this affects the reputation of each individual faction. Moreover, the ability to receive items from another faction (actually buy) depends on your current profit factor. These are the two most important indicators affecting trading.

Trade and faction reputation

Trading items in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader is primarily based on reputation, which you earn separately for each faction. The profit factor is also taken into account.

In short, here's what you need to know:

  • Each faction in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader has a unique item pool and vendor. The item pool is the same goods that you can give to a faction to increase your reputation. In turn, increasing reputation leads to pumping up the level of relationships. Each level is assigned specific items from that faction. Thus, the more reputation points (RP) and the higher the level for a particular faction, the more items you can receive (buy) from it.
  • Instead of spending gold/credits/cash on every item, all you have to do is level up your reputation and profit factor.
  • For each reputation level you reach, and provided you have the required profit factor value, a Rogue Trader can purchaseь different objects.

Where to find all sellers

There are a total of five different factions in the game, and traders for each of them can be found in the Furibundus system:

  • Explorators (Adeptus Mechanicus) - Optikon-22 is located near your shuttle at the Ro-Alpha docks.
  • Druze (Adeptus Ministorum) - Visit the Footfall Atrium and find Hieronymus the Sorrowful.
  • Kasballiki - Go to the Viceroy's mansion in the Atrium on Futfola and talk to Vladaim Tokara.
  • Brotherhood of the Void (Pirates) - Go to the bar at the opposite end of the Shadow Quarters and find Rizza there.
  • Imperial Navy. While you are in the Furibundus system, you will see a ship called Drusus's Blessing. Greet him and offer to exchange goods. Please note that this faction sells parts to upgrade ships, while the rest sell equipment for characters.

In addition, you can chat with Dunrok on your ship and ask him for a reputation boost for the factions. Then a window will open and you can select the desired faction. Or even just trade. Basically, you don't have to leave the ship and find all these merchants. Just talk to Yanris Dunrok, who is standing near the Koronus Expanse map!

How to increase your reputation and profit factor

Can both reputation and profit factor in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader increase with help? There are certain events or dialogue threads, although they are quite rare. But there are two more reliable methods.

Transferring cargo to faction merchants

You can send all unnecessary items as cargo, including weapons and armor. Cargo is divided into different categories, and each faction requires specific goods. Click on the "Reputation" tab when interacting with merchants (even through Yanris) to view a list of goods that interest them. For example, the Druze want Holy Gifts, while the Imperial Navy accepts "spoils" or dropped cargo from space battles.

All types of cargo whose level reaches 100% can be sold (provided that the faction needs them). You can click on the “Select appropriate...” button, and all the goods that you can transfer to a specific faction to increase your reputation will be marked.

Colonial projects

Certain projects in the colonies you manage may provide a profit factor or reputation. Keep in mind that many projects can only be selected after you have met key requirements regarding resources, colony statistics, or even a minimum amount of reputation.

Contracts

Finally, don’t forget to open the “Contracts” tab in your journal. Some of them will allow you to earn either a profit factor or a reputation.
