Primary Character: Guardian.
Specialization:
An African-American male with the shield and scepter of Emerdin Smyther. The basic idea of the build is to use the spinning hammers through the idols to cast Smythe. It's simple and very effective.
Pros of the build:
Cons of the build:
Idols: For this build to be successful, we need 4 idols to cast Smythe when throwing a hammer. Idols are not rare and can be collected towards the end of acts or at the beginning of monoliths. Until then, you can safely use the physical version of the build, collecting throwing damage and physical damage.
List of idols:
A good choice for the first time would be the scepter "Kalnivar's Dovod". It brings an improvement in lightning damage and combines well with the amulet "Self-Release". The idea in combining them is as follows: the scepter permanently restores your mana to 100%, while the amulet gives you an extra Fleeting Smythe damage for every 5 units of missing mana. In addition, the amulet grants piercing, lightning resistance, and lightning damage. And a nice bonus: these items work with the rune of exaltation.
You'll also need the right equipment to provide survivability and lightning damage. Aura will provide the necessary resistances, and sigils will increase damage to improve survivability. This paladin will also make a nice companion in any group, as Aura affects allies and their summoned creatures.
We recommend this build for those who plan to play in a group with another Summoner or boss killer.
Primary Character: Primal.
Specialization:
Next in line is a druid shaman in the form of a spirigan via totems. There are two main versions of this build: with a lightning totem or with ice spikes. The first version brings about 30% more damage, the second brings much more survivability.
Pros:
Cons:
For progression, you'll need some pretty rare epic affixes. To increase mobility, you will need a unique ring, which, although it is a trophy from the rune, still takes up a slot in your inventory.
You can start collecting this build from the very beginning of your pump, as it doesn't require any unique set items. However, to reach full effectiveness, you will have to use the Forest Branch ring, which we mentioned in the drawbacks of the build. Unlike the previous build, there are no mandatory idols here, and you can choose them depending on your need for damage, survivability and other things.
The main idea of the build is to pump the sprigann form and improve the totems available in this form. Roughly speaking, you'll have 9 totems that will attack enemies, heal you, and build up the rage needed to cast skills in sprigann form.
If you manage to get the "Covenant of Storms" relic from the slagon, you will be able to use the lightning totem. Otherwise, it's best to stick to "ice spikes". The Covenant of Storms relic allows you to summon the lightning totem with attacks without leaving your sprigann form. Without this relic, you'll have to constantly switch between forms, which isn't very convenient, since the point of this build is to use all abilities as automatically as possible without leaving the form.
Main Character: Acolyte.
This build will probably be your starting build. We call it "fire ghost lord." These ghosts deal fire damage and literally burn all living things on the screen.
Pros:
Minuses:
Idols: To make your ghosts fire ghosts, we use two idols with a chance to summon a fire ghost instead of a regular ghost.
Idol List:
We use a combination of nightmare construct and shadow of horror to increase damage. Using the sharpened horror talent, we make the construct immobile. Shadow of Terror has key nodes that allow it to buff our ghosts, but it slowly destroys the construct. If the construct is properly placed, it can stand indefinitely until it is attacked by an enemy.
For an extra damage buff, we use summon the shadow of terror underneath the construct, which buffs our ghosts, but also slowly destroys the construct. We set up the construct, find a corner to put it there and put a shadow of terror on the construct, then move away from it and start summoning ghosts, throwing life suckers under their feet, etc. The whole buff is to put the construct somewhere in a corner, put a shadow of terror on top of it and try not to touch it.
We also use life sucking under the feet of our ghosts for infinite mana and xp sustains. Ghosts also become immobile, which allows us to keep them in a puddle of life sucking while getting a boost of mana and hp.
The build is considered a totem build, but with a higher level of damage. The build requires the staff "Warped Call", which grants 10 extra ghosts. The staff can be obtained with a rune of exaltation. While the staff is not present, other Summons such as skeletons or golems can be used, but when the staff appears, the glider build must be followed for maximum effectiveness.
