Walkthrough of Dragon's Dogma 2: Prayers in the Shadows

The quest "Prayers in the Shadows" begins in Bakbattala, where the Empress of Battala was the victim of an assassination attempt. Ser Menella seeks your help in apprehending a murderer who is planning a new attack. To begin the quest, head to the main entrance to the Flame Castle on the east side of the city.

After talking with Menella, you will go into the corridor to the palace, where the Empress and Ser Menella are waiting for you. It is important to remember that once you start this part of the quest, you must complete it within the time limit, otherwise the mission will fail. The Empress will begin to pray, and you will need to discover the killer among those present.

The killer is a man with hair tied in a bun and a wound on his right arm. The wound may be difficult to notice, but if you pay attention to the man in a dark blue robe with a topknot, you will see a bloody bandage on his right arm. Grab him by pressing E. If you catch another NPC, reload your save from the inn and try again.

After successfully apprehending the killer, a cutscene will follow and the quest will be completed. As a reward, you will receive 3,500 experience points, 18,000 gold and 5 jaspers.
