Walkthrough of Dragon's Dogma 2: Return of Calamity

The quest "Return of Calamity" is available a few days after completing the quest "The Throne of the Lord" and the first visit to the capital of Vermund. After arriving in Vernworth, the hero begins a dialogue with Captain Brant, who gives several tasks. After a while, return to Melwe and encounter the dragon attacking the village again.

If the cut-scene with the dragon does not occur, complete one of Brant's three tasks: "Monster Clearance", "Prisoned Lawyer" or "Disa's Intrigue". The quest "Return of Calamity" is not available after completing the story quest "An Extravaganza of Deception". If you have already started the mission, avoid talking to Brant after the coronation and hurry to Melve.

The hero returns to Melve, where the dragon again causes terror. Help the residents survive the monster's attack to continue the mission.

Deal with the dragon

After returning to the village some time later, you witness the second dragon attack on Melwe. Enter the fray and fight until the enemy retreats. To win, you will need to whittle down his health bar several times, which can take time and last well into the night.

There are red pulsating bubbles on the dragon's legs and neck - focus your attacks on them to deal more damage. Hitting enough bubbles will cause the dragon to fall to the ground, giving you the opportunity to land some heavy blows to the head.

After the victory, the locals will thank you for your help, and Ulrika will urgently go home, expressing gratitude for your kindness. The quest "Return of Calamity" will be completed and displayed in your quest log.

Come to Melve

Wait a few days, spend the night in a hotel or tent outside Melve. After this, visit Ulrika's house, where you will find her with Martin. Martin blames the archer for all the troubles and plans to report her to the regent.

When Martin leaves the room, talk to Ulrika. She is concerned about what happened and invites you to spend the night in the house, claiming that you need to gain strength, since there is a lot to do in the city after the disaster.

The next morning, Ulrika will disappear. Leave the house and find Martin at the entrance - the servant received approval to arrest Ulrika, but she managed to escape.

When everyone has left, talk to Lennart, who will ask you to find the archer and find out if she is okay.

Where to find Ulrika

A few days later, go to the village of Harw, which is located on the western bank of Vernworth. In the center of the settlement you will meet Ulrika, she remained safe and sound, managing to hide and leave. The girl will return home only after she finds and defeats the dragon in order to restore her reputation and save Melwe.

If you started but did not complete the quest "Scaly Invaders", the conversation may be interrupted due to an attack by lizards. Once complete, return to Melwe and meet Lennart at Ulrika's house to give him the news. He will be glad to hear that Ulrika is okay, thank you and give you the reward, thus completing the quest.
