Mods in Payday 2 are divided into two types:
SuperBLT is focused on changing the gameplay and individual details, and mod_override is mainly on external content like hoods, retextures of some objects and stuff like that.
It's also a great tool that can update the mod right in the game if the author releases a new version. There is also an option with "BLT Hook", but this tool is no longer relevant after Overkill disabled support for mods in one update. Also, this modding tool was very inconvenient because mods had to be updated manually.
First you need to download "Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable package (x86)" if you don't have one. It's on the same page where the mod is.

We go into the Payday 2 root folder, find the "assets" folder there and if you do not have the "mod_overrides" folder, then create it.
Now everything is ready to install mods.
I recommend immediatelyupdate this tool, because without it a very large number of mods do not work.
Installing mods in Payday 2 is very easy and we have to say thanks to Overkill who gave the official permission to mod the game. Download the mod itself ---> Open the Payday 2 root folder ---> throw the mod folder into the mods or mod_overrides folder.
You have several options on how to find out. In 90% of cases, mod developers write in which folder to put the mod. Read the description of the mods. It's just to know that mod_overrides mostly throws mods for masks, costumes, retextures or small mods like Difficulty "Screen Animation".
In turn, large mods like hades, fixes, etc. are Lua (SuperBLT) mods and they need to be thrown into the mods folder. At random or just drop the mod into both folders. So-so option, since your folder will simply become clogged with a bunch of extra garbage.
Everything is very simple. Make a copy of the mods folder on your desktop (in a convenient place for you). After that, start deleting one mod in the root folder of mods until you find the source of the crashes. Here is the site from which I download all the mods:
