How to Start the Toys of Master Schindel Quest

The opportunity to activate this quest will appear during the long story mission of the second act, which is called "Into the Dungeon". Despite the name, you will not have to go down into the dungeons as part of the main quest.

To start the quest, you will need to follow Katerina's instructions and find an informant named Kozyatin in Kutna Hora. First, visit the "Hole" tavern, where you will be told that Kozyatin is in the local baths.

Only after talking to the owner of the baths, Adam, who will tell you about the theft of the respected scientist Jan Schindel, will you have the opportunity to take the side quest. Keep in mind that if you talk to Kozyatin before this, Adam will not be able to give you the information you need.

How to find Kozyatin

Kozyatin is hiding nearby - in the attic of one of the barns, located between the baths and the square with the fountain. If you need more information on how to get to him, you can refer to the guide to the quest "Into the Dungeon".

When you find Kozyatin, he will tell you about the fate of the stolen goods. The thief admits that he sold everything to a smuggler nicknamed Angel, who hid the items in the dungeon. However, Angel had already been hanged, and the only map of the Kutna Hora catacombs remained with him.

So, you will have to go to the gallows to check if the map was left with the executed man.

How to find the Kutna Hora dungeons map

The gallows is located in the east, outside the city walls, and you will have a corresponding mark on the map. The corpse of the hanged man has not yet been removed, and you can search it to find the map of the Kutna Hora dungeons.

How to find Schindel's things

As is often the case with maps in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, it can be difficult to navigate at first. However, once you understand how the underground tunnels and cellars marked on the map are connected, it will become easier for you. The location is already marked with a black circle, and the dungeon can be accessed through two nearby entrances, so you don’t have to wander through dark corridors.

The first entrance is in Schindel’s own house on the east side of the city. You just need to get into his basement, where there is a passage to the catacombs, and then follow the directions on the map.

The second entrance is located in a burnt-out building nearby. Here, you just need to go down the stairs and move south until the last left, where you will find a barrel.

Inside the barrel, you will find Schindel’s stolen items, so you can immediately return to the surface. However, we recommend staying a little longer, as there are other valuable treasures in this place. Don’t worry, there are no enemies or monsters here.

Be sure to look into the place marked on the map with a chest, as there really is treasure there. This is a smuggler’s warehouse, and his collection is impressive. At the point marked with a bag, you will find a corpse with a smuggler's map, and as for the last marked point, we will leave it as a surprise.

Reward for completing the quest "Master Shindel's Toys"

Now you need to return to Master Shindel, whose address you already know. Usually, the scientist spends time enjoying the atmosphere in the backyard.

After you return the stolen things to him, you will have the opportunity to ask him about the valuable artifacts he received. As a reward for completing the quest, you will receive 225 groschen and a parchment with a poem.
