The guide is currently up to date for version 0.11.2, although if you have previous versions, you can still unlock characters that were added earlier, as long as the methods for unlocking them remain the same.
Secret characters can also be unlocked using cheat codes. They are all in the "cheat codes" heading.
Since in update 0.10.0 the developers added an item that allows you to view progress on secret characters, the meaning of this guide is somewhat lost, but the game is not always written clearly and accurately. If you want to solve all the mysteries yourself, you can see how to open the item in the "Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane" heading.
If you can't open any character no matter what, try verifying the integrity of the game files: right-click on the game in the library, then properties, then local files.
Since some people want to explore the game themselves, in places where the conversation turns to the main part of the game, I added spoilers and an appendix section at the end so that the secret characters guide does not turn into a 100% walkthrough guide.
Character Features: +100% luck. Every 10 levels, +10% more luck up to level 50 (total +50% more luck).
In order to unlock it, you need to quickly type x-x1viiq on the keyboard while in the main menu of the game. As with opening any with?specific character, after that you should hear a small melody. Then the character should appear in the list.
It is free, it does not need to be additionally opened for coins.
If you have a French AZERTY keyboard layout, type x)x&viia instead of x-x1viiq.
If you are typing correctly, but the character does not open, try switching to the English layout or turning on the on-screen keyboard.
If you open it through the secrets tab, instead of x-x1viiq you need to type exdashexoneviiq (see "Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane" heading).
In addition, the character can automatically open at a TotalCollected/65535 chance each time you pick up a small clover that drops from lights in a run. TotalCollected - the number of collected clovers.

In order to open this character, you must kill one of the following enemies with a pentagram or the evolution of a pentagram:
They must be killed, after that there will be a corresponding sound (not like when opening a character, the sound can be heard hereb) and Toastie will appear in the lower right corner of the screen for about half a second (see image). During this time, you need to have time to press (better to spam) the down arrow ↓ and Enter. For those who play through WASD, S does not work, and it is necessary to press the arrow. The pentagram does not always kill: if, after the death of the enemies, they do not leave experience gems (and in general, all the experience around disappears), then this is not considered a kill.
Another good way is rosary (a cross dropped from light sources that kills all enemies in the same way) or minecarts at the Dairy Plant location.
All three appear at Capella Magna (Drowner - 5:10, Stalker - 10:10, Trickster - 15:10). However, this only happens as a scripted event and only until you reach the very end of this location and kill the main boss there.
The three of them can also be seen on the Boss Rash map at the 11th minute.
Drowner and Stalker also spawn in The Bone Zone, Stalker at 10 minutes??e, Drowner is on the 20th, but they both leave after one minute.
Drowner alone spawns in Gallo Tower at 25 minutes when the crab boss arrives, but if the crab is killed, the Drowner will also disappear.
Stalker can come at 1 minute with a 1% chance, at 8 minutes with a 30% chance and at 12 minutes with a 30% chance in the Dairy Plant, but this chance decreases the more luck you have.

One YouTube guide says that you can just wait until the boss himself appears and not go for the pies. I don't vouch.

Features: -70% strength (might). +10% strength every 3 levels up to level 24 (total +80% strength). Features change every minute. Starts with Bloody Tear, the whip evolution.
Yellow Sign should b?You are already open to unlock this character. See Appendix 1 for information on how to open.
With the Yellow Sign open, cheese will appear on the Dairy Plant location (see picture). It is said to be on the upper right of the starting location, but to avoid looking, it is better to use the Mad Groove arcana (see appendix 4 on how to open it).
After you pick up the cheese, 7 large werewolves will appear (see picture) that you need to kill. This will unlock a secret character that costs 666 coins, excluding other purchased characters.

To unlock this secret character, you must first unlock the O'Sole Meeo character (not secret). See Appendix 5 for information on how to open it.
For O'Sole in Il Molise, you need to heal plants for 100,000 health. Celestial Dusting, O'Sole's starting weapon, does not attack, but heals them. To open it, you need to live a maximum on the location (for most locations it is 30 minutes, but as far as I know, in bonus locations 15) and kill Death, which comes to kill you.
The easiest way is to open the Yellow Sign (see appendix 1), go to any location (for me personally, Mad Forest was the easiest), select the Mad Groove arcana (see appendix 4) - it doesn’t matter if you choose it first, second or third . The main thing is that you do not have to go for all the items yourself. You select Clock Lancet and Laurel as weapons, then pick up new items from the map (both rings and both arrows), and pump both arrows and rings to the maximum, as well as Clock Lancet with Laurel. After that, you should get the evolution of these items. Now should you be??virtually invulnerable to Death. The character costs 666 coins, excluding the purchase of other characters.
I do not recommend taking curses, as they will only increase the health of Death and opponents. Arcana that can help you, in addition to Mad Groove, are Out of Bounds (see appendix 7) and Awake (see appendix 8).
You can also use another secret character - Toastie, if you manage not to die and pump him to the desired level.

To open it, you need to survive in the Boss Rash location for 15 minutes with one weapon (you can take as many items as you like). To open Boss Rash, you need to open hyper mode for all 5 locations.
The easiest way to do this is to take some strong character, preferably a secret one with evolution. The first time I tried with Red Death and Minnah, it didn't work. Leda has a good strength bonus, so you can try it. With him, I opened this character.
A good choice would be to take the Silent Old Sanctuary arcana (see appendix 6) from the start. And when you have already upgraded all the items to the maximum, you can take the Game Killer arcana (see appendix 9) for even more damage. Also, if you already have Mindbender open (see under??burning 10). it will be even easier for you not to pick up weapons.
The character costs 5000 coins if you haven't bought any other characters before.

Yellow Sign must be open (Appendix 1). Select Green Acres with Hurry Mode and Hyper Mode enabled, and long walk to the lower left corner of the map until it starts to change.
New enemies will appear. You need to kill 128 to unlock the character (you will hear a sound).

You will see a question mark on the map. If you go there, a ring of enemies will appear around the coffin. You need to kill them all and go to the coffin, after which a secret character will open.
The easiest way to do this is in the library.
The character costs 5000 (excluding other purchased characters).
This item allows you to track progress on hidden content and characters right in the game, and right there you can see the conditions for unlocking secret characters. True, it is written there sometimes quite vaguely.
To open it, you need to select The Bone Zone (opens if you unlock the hyper-mode for three maps). Below the starting location, but above the ?The ring, if you have a Yellow Sign (Appendix 1), will be a question mark on the map. This is the boss, so he moves. He kills other opponents, and the more he kills, the bigger and stronger he will become, so I recommend choosing some strong secret character, like Leda or Red Death, and go to him from the beginning of the game.

The next character/letter must be entered within 30 seconds after you have entered the previous one. If you enter a code outside the secrets menu, you must enter the next letter within two seconds for the cheat code to work. For the pet cheat code, instead of a two-second timer, a half-second timer works.
You should also use arrows instead of WASD.
Allows you to see hidden items in the location. It can be found in Moongolow after killing the last boss. To open Moongolow, you need to open hyper mode for 4 maps.
