Well-known insider Tom Henderson has reported that Electronic Arts does not plan to release the next part of the shooter series in 2023, as originally stated. Instead, the publisher will aim for 2024 and, quite likely, a new project will be created from scratch without looking back at previous parts.
Apparently, EA took into account the unsuccessful experience of Battlefield 2042 , which is unlikely to be repeated by anyone. The franchise clearly needs a reboot and rehabilitation in the eyes of users who have lost confidence in it.
So far, no details are known about the new Battlefield - neither the concept nor details about the story campaign. Official news about it is clearly not worth waiting until next year.
