Amazon has begun work on a TV show based on Blade Runner 2049. Ridley Scott, who wrote the original 1982 film, will direct and executive produce. The second executive producer was Michael Green, co-writer of the original Blade Runner 2049.
Events will unfold 50 years after the original. Showrunner Silky Louise (Halo) said the series will retain "the mind, themes and spirit of its predecessor films".
Blade Runner 2099 will be available exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
The success of the title is quite expected.
