The administration of the site AimJunkies, which distributes cheating software, filed a counterclaim against Bungie. The developers of the MMO shooter Destiny 2 are accused of illegally downloading files from the computer of a certain James May, whom the studio staff calls one of the authors of the cheats.
The plaintiffs admitted that, indeed, they are engaged in the production of software to obtain an illegal advantage over other players, but this is not the point. May accused Bungie of obtaining data on him illegally, violating their own license agreement. Initially, it did not indicate that the company had the right to receive data from users' PCs, and therefore this could be a reason for litigation.
Now Mr. James May requires Bungie to repay the damages caused by its illegal activities.
It seems like the world has been turned upside down with cheaters suing game developers these days.
