The Russian authorities have begun to develop specific measures to support domestic game developers who are going through hard times. The order was given by Deputy Prime Minister Chernyshenko, sending him to representatives of the Ministry of Digital Development and the Ministry of Education and Science. The first versions of the project should be ready by February 10, 2023.
It is tentatively expected that the project will contain possible measures in the form of grants and tax breaks for companies involved in the development of video games. By December 20, state apparatuses will prepare proposals for the creation of training programs for specialized specialists.
All this is good, but it would not hurt to create a special expert council that would oversee support programs. They should be dealt with by narrowly focused specialists, and not by statesmen who do not understand anything in games.
