A group of mysterious online attackers have stolen the source codes from Riot Games for two of their key projects, League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics. The hackers also stole the anti-cheat codes, after which they turned to the developers and demanded a ransom for the files.
The studio refused to pay the insolent people, while it is not clear what exactly the hackers threatened Riot Games with. In fact, both League of Legends and Teamfight Tactics are available in a free format to everyone. Unless, someone wants to make some clones based on them, but potential competitors will obviously have fewer resources, and therefore such products may not be successful.
Be that as it may, the developers will have to work on the level of network security of the internal network.
The project is codenamed Half-Life X.
