Dave Bautista still hopeful for lead role in Gears of War film adaptation

In November 2022, Netflix acquired the rights to make a film adaptation of the shooter Gears of War . Dave Bautista wants to land the lead role and play Marcus Fenix. He confirmed this fact in a recent interview with Variety.

I hope they give me the role. It's a role that I've been wanting to get for years, and I think I can give Marcus Fenix a unique twist. I can really do it. I think I could handle it. I feel very confident, so I hope that there will be such an opportunity, and in the future we will be able to talk about it in different terms.

Batista's last works were Guardians of the Galaxy, Dune and Knives Out. Netflix has not yet commented on this statement.
