The 96K6 Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and artillery system on the chassis of a KamAZ 8x8 truck was adopted by the Russian army in 2012. The complex combines a radar with a long detection range for its class, 12 effective surface-to-air missiles and fast-firing 30-mm cannons with belts to destroy air and armored targets. "Pantsir-S1" is able to find targets at distances up to 20 km, as well as simultaneously track and fire in the 45x45 degree sector up to four targets simultaneously. Air defense systems of the Pantsir family of various modifications are also used by the armies of Morocco, Syria, Algeria, Iraq and other countries.
