The Kingdom Hearts series is heading to the Nintendo Switch

The Kingdom Hearts series has finally made it to the Nintendo Switch. All games will be available on the portable platform via cloud gaming. This was announced right after the previous announcement, which revealed that the game's protagonist Sora is joining Super Smash Bros. ultimate . It is important to emphasize that all the games in the series will appear on the Switch, except for one, Melody of Memory.

These cloud versions of Kingdom Hearts don't even have a rough release date, but one thing is clear - this will be the franchise's first appearance on Switch! Square Enix previously released the Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory rhythm game available on Switch, but the "numbered" titles (Kingdom Hearts 1, 2, and 3) have yet to appear.

Here is the list of Kingdom Hearts games that will be available on Switch:

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix - the first game in the series, an improved version of Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories
  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMix is the second game in the series, a cinematic version of Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded (Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep Final Mix)
  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue - Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth by Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage and Kingdom Hearts cinematic retelling χ Back Cover
  • Kingdom Hearts 3 is the third game in the series and also contains the Kingdom Hearts Re:Mind expansion.
