Not so long ago, the head of Bethesda, Todd Howard, announced that in the new Starfield space sim, players will not have much freedom in terms of building relationships with NPCs. So, the director said that in the process of exploring space, the heroes will be able to romance only four NPCs, which, given the scale of the game itself, is extremely small.
However, Dragon Age franchise writer David Gaider doesn't see this as a bad sign. On the contrary, if the developers decided to go down the path of quality over quantity, the presence of four full-fledged story arcs with the opportunity to start a romance with someone from the game world is an indicator that it will be really interesting, and not stereotyped.
On the other hand, Mr. Gader expressed the hope that the authors of Starfield did not use AI to prescribe the script, otherwise these stories would turn out to be very mediocre and not interesting.
We will be able to test them in practice on September 6, when Starfield will be officially released on PC and Xbox Series consoles.
