Death Stranding 2 was announced at The Game Awards in December 2022, and over the past twelve months, Hideo Kojima, the game's game designer and creator, has been sharing a number of interesting details about the upcoming sequel. Here are five key news:
Gameplay evolution:
Hideo Kojima promises noticeable changes in the mechanics of Death Stranding 2. Since 2019, technology has advanced, opening up new opportunities for the studio. He claims that the game will retain a nostalgic touch for fans of the original, despite the lack of similarities with the sequel in the literal sense.
New approach to development:
Kojima Productions is using new techniques in the creation of Death Stranding 2, including the use of live lighting as opposed to artificial lighting in previous versions. Kojima is also revising his work with character models to more accurately convey details, such as skin and hair color, and facial features of Asian characters.
Casting:
Hideo Kojima personally participated in the casting for Death Stranding 2, striving for harmony between the actors on the set. Important roles will be played by Norman Reedus, Léa Seydoux, Elle Fanning and Shiori Kutsuna.
Important Character:
Elle Fanning's character will play a key role in the plot of Death Stranding 2. Kojima developed the plot around this character after meeting the actress recommended by Nicolas Winding Refn.
Old and but?acquaintances:
Death Stranding 2 will introduce both old and new characters, including the return of Fragile (Lea Seyda) and the introduction of a new heroine (Shiori Kutsuna). Kojima promises players exciting plot twists.
