New details about Rise of the Ronin

The developers of the game Rise of the Ronin provided an interview for journalists from the Game Informer portal, where they revealed the details of their new project. Set in 1863 during the Bakumatsu period in Japan, the action-RPG from Team Ninja (of Nioh fame) centers on a ronin mercenary named Hidden Blade.

Here are some key aspects of the game:

• The story will feature historical figures including politicians Sakamoto Ryoma and Yoshida Sein.
• In addition to its connection to real events, the game will also present a fictional story.
• Players will have access to three cities: Yokohama, Kyoto and Edo (modern Tokyo).
• In Rise of the Ronin, you can develop your reputation in different regions and improve your relationships with characters, which will affect the final outcome of the plot.
• In side missions, the player will be able to influence the development of events by making decisions such as sparing or killing characters.
• Horses, gliders and a grappling hook are provided for getting around the world, the latter even allowing players to attack while in flight.
• The hero's arsenal will include shotguns, rifles, pistols, katanas, bombs and many other types of weapons.
• Leveling up in Rise of the Ronin will be in the style of Dark Souls, offering players the use of the "Karma" resource, and the retention of experience even after death.

The game will be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 on March 22, 2024.
