The patch will be released very soon.
Nightdive Studios has announced a major update for the System Shock remake, adding a ton of interesting content to the project.
Here are the key aspects of Patch 1.2:
- The choice of a female hacker character is now available when starting a new game, something that was announced back during the Kickstarter campaign eight years ago.
- The final boss has been drastically revamped, including new game mechanics.
- On the easy difficulty level, pointers leading to the objective have been added.
- Improved attacks and movement methods for some enemies.
- Optimized the game, which is especially noticeable on Steam Deck, according to the developers' claims.
- Fixed bugs with achievements and added cloud saves.
- Improved first-person animation.
- Balance adjustments have been made, such as increased recycling station capacity and maximum payout level, and the duration of the electromagnetic pulse has been reduced by 25%. Also, enemies now take longer to "memorize" the player on all difficulty levels.
- Many minor improvements have been implemented, such as new monitor images, increased text size in all languages and texture fixes.
The patch will be released on April 11.
