DICE has unveiled plans to update Battlefield 2042 by the end of spring, after which the studio will take on development of the next installment in the series.
Over the next few months, players can expect a new map, expanded weapon arsenal, vehicles, and a couple of events.
A 7.1 update and a limited-time Crimson Front event are scheduled for April 16.
On April 30, the game will feature the infantry map Stadium, which is an adapted part of the Hourglass location.
A 7.2 update will follow in mid-May, introducing the XFAD-4 Draugr stealth aircraft and the DFR Strife machine gun.
A Future Strike event is planned between May and June.
On April 9, EA and DICE announced the end of seasonal updates for Battlefield 2042, indicating the need to reallocate resources to work on the new shooter (expected to be released in the fall of 2025). DICE, Criterion, Ripple Effect, EA Gothenburg and EA Motive are working on Battlefield 2025.
