Yermak was probably supposed to appear in Mortal Kombat 1's base character roster

Yermak, who is one of Mortal Kombat 1's additional characters, may have originally been part of the game's main roster, fans speculate.

This opinion is based on an analysis of the game's official soundtrack cover released on vinyl.

The final version of Mortal Kombat 1 features 23 characters, and Yermak is not among them. However, the cover depicts 24 characters including Yermak, leading one to assume that he was added to the base cast of 23 heroes.

Interesting fact: Prior to the release of Mortal Kombat 1, the developers claimed that the game would feature 24 characters. However, plans changed and shortly after launch, the number of characters was reduced to 23.

Early access to Yermak will start on April 16, on which day the character will be available for Kombat Pack owners. A week later, Yermak will be available for purchase separately.
