Game Informer journalist Brian Shea shared details about the reputation and tracking systems in the Star Wars Outlaws game.
Protagonist Kay Vess is forced to interact with four criminal factions: Pike Syndicate, Crimson Dawn, Hutt Cartel, and Ashiga Clan, balancing their interests.
You can improve your faction relations by completing quests and small errands. However, wrong actions, like attacking syndicate members or choosing to favor competitors, can lower reputation. A high reputation grants access to lucrative orders, discounts at faction stores, rumors from informants, high-stakes Sabakk games, and support from faction fighters in pursuit. While it is possible to lose reputation, it is impossible to completely lose opportunities to interact with the clan. Players will constantly have to make choices about what best suits their current interests, although it is also possible to remain loyal to one faction until the end.
The manhunt system is reminiscent of the one used in Grand Theft Auto. The more active and aggressive Vess breaks the law, the more serious the attempts to capture her become, including elite units at the maximum search level. To avoid a chase, you can hide or bribe corrupt officers of the Empire.
Star Wars Outlaws will be available on PC, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 on August 30, subtitled in Russian.
