The team of creators of the series Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: Knight of Sword began to prepare filming and select locations, reports Redanian Intelligence. It is noted that for some scenes will be used the same locations as in the original Game of Thrones.
The Sword Knight is a prequel to the main show and is based on a collection of stories by George R. R. Martin, telling about the adventures of the knight Dunc and his companion, Prince Aegon, who in the future will become King Aegon V.
According to the publication, scenes of the first season are planned to be filmed in Northern Ireland. Myra Castle will be used to depict Flea Bottom and Ashford Castle, the locations of Martin's first story. It's also where the interiors of the Dreadfort have already been filmed for Game of Thrones. It is assumed that the shooting of the surroundings of Ashford Castle will take place in another location — at Glenarm Castle, although the castle itself will not be used in the shooting.
The beginning of filming of the series Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: Knight of Sword is scheduled for June 2024, and the premiere is expected in the second half of 2025.
