Apple Corporation has significantly reduced plans to produce its Vision Pro virtual reality headset, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. According to his data, the company now plans to release only 400-450 thousand units during the year.
Previously, Apple intended to release about 700-800 thousand headsets during the same period. The revision of plans occurred after the beginning of sales of Vision Pro in the U.S. market. Kuo notes that sales in the U.S. were significantly lower than expected. Similar information is confirmed by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, who often writes about Apple products.
Kuo also claims that Apple has revised its strategy for its VR headset lineup. It's possible that the Vision Pro's successor won't be released in 2025, and that next year's production volumes will be even lower.
At this point, Apple has not confirmed these reports or made any official statements regarding Vision Pro sales levels or changes in strategy. The company rarely publishes such data.
