Embark Studios has released an update for the conditionally free-to-play shooter The Finals, aimed at strengthening the fight against cheaters.
The developers said that thanks to new rules and improved detection methods, starting this week players will encounter cheaters much less often. Embark Studios emphasized that the changes to detection algorithms and procedures will allow for faster detection and exclusion of offenders from the game.
Since the release of The Finals, the fan base has expressed frustration over the number of cheaters, and at one point some players even demanded a regional lockout for users from China and Russia. Thankfully, the latter has been officially abandoned by the developers.
The action game also received a content update.
