In just a few days, the long-awaited release of the major story addition Shadow of the Erdtree for the cult game Elden Ring will take place. And, as the first reviews show, FromSoftware has once again managed to create something truly grandiose.
As of this writing, Shadow of the Erdtree has an average score of 95 on Metacritic and 94 on OpenCritic. Thus, the new addition to Elden Ring has received rave reviews from the gaming press and bloggers.
A masterfully crafted expansion to one of the best action RPGs of the last decade that not only complements the base game, but also further expands its thematic and systemic scope.
This is a continuation of what made The Ring of Elden fantastic in the first place. An epic adventure!
Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree is a much bigger expansion than I could have imagined, and my expectations were already a little high. While I have personal gripes with what I consider to be missed chances, that doesn't stop it from being impressive overall. This expansion feels like it brings full closure to Elden Ring, a game that already felt like a whole project in a way that I didn't even know needed finishing. I can no longer imagine Elden Ring without Shadow Of The Erdtree, as if Realm Of Shadow had existed all along.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree was worth the wait and more. I've already said that this is FromSoftware's most ambitious DLC yet, and that's not hyperbole. If you liked Elden Ring, you'll love everything about this DLC. Enjoy it, because Hidetaka Miyazaki stated that after this expansion there will be no more.
Judging by the reviews, Shadow of the Erdtree will be a truly epic adventure that will easily keep players engaged for dozens of hours. Critics say that FromSoftware has once again demonstrated its talent in creating an immersive and deep game world filled with interesting characters, challenging challenges and secrets waiting to be revealed.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will release on June 21 on PC and all major gaming consoles. Given the high ratings, it's safe to say that this addition will be a must-have for fans of the original game and all lovers of quality role-playing adventures.
