Robert Downey Jr. to appear as Doctor Doom for the first time in a third-party film

Insider Jeff Snyder has hinted at when we can expect Robert Downey Jr.'s first appearance as Doctor Doom.

According to the source, it won't happen in the next Avengers, but in another film. This is probably the new Fantastic Four, which Marvel is currently working on. The future main villain may appear in a post-credits scene.

The new Avengers themselves are set to be released in 2026, and the next reboot of Fantastic Four is expected in July 2025.
