Journalist Jason Schreier reported that Blizzard was desperate to release some new real-time strategy.
According to the journalist, members of the development team offered to make Warcraft 4 and an RTS based on Call of Duty, but management did not allow it. Blizzard management was unhappy with the results of the re-release of Warcraft 3: Reforged, and therefore no one allocated a budget for a new RTS.
Thus, we should definitely not expect a new strategy from the company in the near future.
