An unknown Team Fortress 2 fan made a deal that set a record for its amount.

In early 2025, a unique Crone's Dome hat was sold in the game, and the buyer paid a whopping $43,000 for it. This became a real record and the largest amount ever paid for a digital product of the shooter. Previously, the record belonged to the same Crone's Dome hat, which was bought in 2024 for $18,000. Not bad inflation.

What makes Crone's Dome valuable is that it has effects that were cut from Team Fortress 2 back in 2015.
