War Thunder to Release Hornet Attack Update with New Maps and Combat Vehicles

Pixel Storm has announced the upcoming release of a major update, “Hornet Attack,” for the military online shooter War Thunder. The wait is short — until mid-March. In the update, three well-known maps will receive updated visuals, and many new combat vehicles will be added, including the F/A-18 fighter, the Hopkins Mk.I light tank, and the HMS Warspite battleship.

The F/A-18 Hornet fighter, which took part in numerous US military operations, including Desert Storm and combat in Afghanistan, will be presented in several versions. Players will be able to use the American F/A-18A and F/A-18C models, as well as the Finnish F/A-18C, which will differ in armament and combat systems, including the new Walleye II ER/DL guided bomb.

The Hopkins Mk.I light tank, designed in 1941, will replace the Mk VII Tetrarch. It features improved armor and the ability to penetrate up to 89 mm of armor with its 40 mm cannon.

The Rhine Crossing, Sinai, and Jungle maps have received major visual improvements. New textures, models, and decorative elements make the maps more colorful while maintaining their original design and gameplay mechanics.
