Minecraft has no plans to move to a free-to-play distribution model

Mojang Studios does not plan to transfer its voxel sandbox Minecraft to a free-to-play distribution model.

The company's representatives believe that a paid model is the ideal option for the game. However, the developers are clearly prevaricating, since the Chinese version is distributed free of charge in the Celestial Empire. Apparently, an exception was made for that territory.

Minecraft sales exceed 300 million copies, the game's audience in China is more than 400 million people.
