As promised, Krafton has moved its PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds battle royale game to a shareware distribution model. Initially, the game was available after purchase, but now everyone can join the legendary project, which marked the beginning of a whole genre, absolutely free.
However, it is worth noting that in order to play in ranked mode, users will still have to pay by purchasing a Battlegrounds Plus subscription for about 970 rubles. Those who have previously purchased the game client will receive a Competitive Match Pass by default (along with a bonus cosmetic pack).
Together with the update, which changes the distribution scheme of the game, newcomers got the opportunity to get comfortable in the project by taking part in battles with bots.
The project is codenamed Half-Life X.
