Larian Studios has announced the release of the eighth major update for Baldur’s Gate 3, which will be available on April 15. The developers have been testing the patch since January 2025, and now it is ready to please players with new features, including photo mode, crossplay, and 12 new subclasses.
Thanks to the Larian account system, the game will have support for cross-platform multiplayer. This will allow gamers to form teams with friends, regardless of the platform used, as well as find a lobby for joint play.
Another significant change will be the introduction of split-screen support on the Xbox Series S. Previously, the developers said that the console could not handle this feature, but now it was possible to implement it without compromising performance.
New subclasses: expanding tactical possibilities
The update will add 12 new subclasses to the game, one for each profession:
Larian Studios has already published a preliminary description of the upcoming patch on the official Baldur’s Gate 3 website. The developers promise to reveal the full list of changes closer to the release date of the update.
