The ending of No Time To Die has left fans of the franchise excited. This is the first time we've seen the death of James Bond on screen. After several months of silence, Daniel Craig finally spoke about what the last moments of his Bond meant to him, and shared information that the idea to kill the iconic spy first came to his mind during the filming of 2006's Casino Royale.
Speaking to Variety, in the presence of Javier Bardem, who previously played the villain in Skyfall, Craig said:
I had this idea, I wanted to kill Bond for a very long time. Also at Casino Royale. For different reasons.
Pure selfishness. I feel like I need to finish what I achieved with him […] I thought it was a good way to continue […] Not only the beginning should be emotional, but also the ending.
What direction the James Bond franchise will take remains a mystery. We have already heard countless names of actors who could play the role of the new 007.
