"Kommersant" reports that the Russian structure "Rostelecom" plans to acquire GeForce Now. The total amount of the transaction will be 1.5 billion rubles, after its completion, the domestic company will have a 51% stake in the cloud technology service.
The authors of the publication suggest that Rostelecom plans to enter the international market with the help of the new asset and begin its expansion. Along with this, it is expected that the new owners will increase the rates for using the services of the resource, since now most of the functionality of GeForce Now is available on a free basis, which makes it completely unprofitable.
Representatives of GFN.ru confirmed the deal, but did not disclose details about the upcoming acquisition.
