At the beginning of the game, you will find yourself in a prison cell. Use arrow keys to control. To hit, press the X key. Attack the toilet and bed to pick up toilet paper and wire. Open inventory on F and use the C key to select paper and wire to combine them. As a result, the hero will stun the guard. Hold X to search his body. After picking up the key, open inventory on F, select the key and use it on the C key to open the grate.
You will find yourself in the prison yard. Break the crate on the left to pick up the gold medal. So you unlock the challenge "Not an escape, but an escape." Walk to the left and break some crates. In one of them you will find a dressing (heals wounds). Choose the number of guards and eliminate them. From one I picked up a ring.
There will be another enemy below. Get closer to him. Your hero will say "Be healthy", this cannot be avoided. Eliminate the enemy and apply the bandage. First select it in your inventory and then hold C to use it. Pick up a medal to get the Real Man challenge.

Remember that you only get experience points if you eliminate unsuspecting enemies. Surely the first such enemy will be this one. When he turns around to take a piss, run up from behind and attack X. Push the drawer with your fists and enter the toilet. Approach the urinal to save the game.
Walk left and talk to the prisoner. You need to find a radio. To the left of it, in the lane, there are two boxes. Break them to reveal a sewer hatch. You need a rope to get down there. Nearby there is also a medal with the Containment challenge.
Go below and eliminate the enemy. Pick up a coin, throw it to the right to distract the second opponent. You will find a walkie-talkie on his body. Need encryption. Go through the door on the right. Use V to roll. Break the equipment and pick up at least one printed circuit board. Also pick up a medal with the "Top Secret" challenge. Combine it with the radio and take the encrypted radio to Colonel Harrison. You need to find another one.
Climb down again and go left. Eliminate two enemies and take the medal. You can break three boxes. Go higher, eliminate the enemy and go to the toilet. You can give toilet paper to the soldier outside the door. Then you can break it and stun the enemy. Also be sure to save by using the urinal. The enemy outside has an eye patch and a glass eye. Go up from the urinal and kill the enemy. Find a lighter on him. Enter the room, select the second option to make the guard sleep. Defuse it and pick up the flyer. There is an empty pot in the drawer on the left.
Go higher and pick up a watch from the enemy. Find a first aid kit in the drawer, select it and heal. Walk to the right and kill two enemies. There will be a medal with the Unbearable challenge. In addition, you can attack a huge gas cylinder, but it will explode and you will die. One of the enemies will have cigarettes on it. Previously, you found a lighter. You can go to the left, where you came from, and talk to the prisoner through the bars. Give him cigarettes and a lighter. He will return you a chinarik (a half-smoked cigarette). If you go to the right, you will enter a room with two cameras. Chat with the man, break the boxes and use the key to open either his cell or the cell with a coin. You decide.
Go below and kill two enemies on the left and one on the right. The enemies on the left have crates. In them you will find the rope you need to escape. The path to the left leads back to the previously visited locations and the sewer manhole. But don't rush! Walk to the right to run into a dude with grenades. You need to defeat the first boss .
Open inventory and combine the eye patch with the flyer. So you get a slingshot. You will shoot with pellets, which you probably already managed to collect. Do not get close to the enemy, because in this case, the grenade throw will take a minimum of time, and you simply cannot dodge. After creating a slingshot, shoot at the enemy using the "Space" key. After winning, search it and get a hook.
Find a walkie-talkie on the corpses, combine with the board to get a second walkie-talkie. In inventory, combine the hook with the rope, and then use them on the sewer hatch.
Start this
mission off by punching the pile of trash to the right a few times to get a
severed arm. Now who would throw this away?! Equip the arm and use it on the
sewage water. You can use it anywhere while facing the water.
A small
bridge will now appear to the left. Cross it and the path will immediately
split. First, let's break the trash to the left for a plastic drum. After you
get that, take the path upwards and break another set of trash for another
plastic drum. Climb up the ladder here and we'll find Sg. Rosco! He'll tell
someone to turn the shredders on over the radio to try to stop you. He's a high
ranking officer at this facility so he has a valuable key card. We'll have to
fight him to take it from him! Roll under the shelf below you and step into the
room. He'll spot you once you turn the corner so there's no need to try to
sneak behind him.
Rosco is a
bit of an easier fight than the Grenade Guy. While going over the events with
the Lieutenant, Jesse will tell him how he defeated Sg. Rosco. Fortunately
there's a very valuable tool at your disposal to take him out, a globe! That's
right, a globe of the earth will be your weapon for this fight!
Rosco will
hide behind his desk. He'll run back and forth before crouching. When he
crouches, he'll become slightly darker and you can't hurt him. You'll have to
wait for him to stand up to shoot to attack. When he does shoot, he'll fire
three quick rounds before ducking again. He won't move until you hit him. Stand
below the globe and you'll see a line for where you are aiming it. You have to
just punch the globe at him when he stands up to hurt him.
The best
approach here is to always stay at the bottom of the screen. The globe is down
here which you'll need to deal damage to the boss and keeping your distance
gives you time to avoid his shots. Try to line yourself up to hit him while
he's crouching. He stands up at regular intervals so it's rather easy to try to
time your attacks to hit him just as he's standing up. When you do hit him,
he'll immediately stop his attack and run to a different position. Try to keep
hitting him before he even attacks until you finally defeat him.
Inspect his
body and you'll find the Card 1. This is a level 1 security key card to grant
you access to different rooms in the facility. Head back into the sewer and
continue down into the starting room. Follow the path to the left and we'll
fight a piranha human hybrid. You'll get a choice about the origin story of the
creature for some hilarious dialogues. Break the trash in your way for another
plastic drum. Continue along the path for yet another cutscene. Again, the
option here will only affect the dialogue and have no change in game play.
Continue to the left to fight off three more piranha human hybrids. Before
climbing up the ladder, attack the trash to the left for another plastic drum.
Now we can climb up the ladder.
We'll get a
call from the Colonel. Take the call and you'll learn to get some papers about
Operation Jerico. You'll find them in this room! Simply break the left most
filing cabinet by punching it a few times. You can read the papers by equipping
them from your inventory and pressing the use button while unpaused. After you
read them, call the Colonel on the radio again. He'll briefly speak to you
about it and tell you that you need to get out of the base! We'll have to focus
on building a raft.
Head out
the door and we'll be outside. The path will split between west and east. We
can't go to the east yet unless you want to watch Jesse lose a fight to a dog.
Let's go west. Stop at the bathroom along the way to save. Approach the barrel
to see a cat run out. When you run past the barrel, it'll shake again. The
guard will ask who's there. You have two funny options between another cat or a
T-Rex. Either one will alert the guard but they're too funny to resist!
Ultimately, the Mike option is the correct option and the guard will continue
patrolling. Sneak up behind him to knock him out. Search his body for a
handkerchief and break the box to the right for 4 depleted uranium balls.
Continue south along the path to the next screen.
We'll find
two trucks and two guards. Sneak between the trucks when the guards aren't
looking. Wait for the guards to be on opposite sides of the crate and knock out
the nearest guard when it's safe to do so. This will alert the other guard.
Just leave his body here and quickly run around the right truck. Roll to get
around it faster. Get behind him before he wakes up the first guard and knock
him out from behind. Search them as one will have a ring to collect. Inspect
the engine of the truck on the right for a humorous cutscene. There's nothing
in the screen to the right so let's continue to the left.
It's tough
to see in the first picture but you need to throw a coin to the left of the
first set of boxes. The first image will show the guard spotting the coin and
running up to it. Knock him out as he picks it up. The upper guard will patrol
left and right. When he walks behind one of the boxes, quickly roll to the far
left wall as shown in the second image above. Sneak up behind him as he patrols
to the right to knock him out. Search his body for a coin and enter the door.
Break all the crates here for raw meat, a first aid kit, 3 depleted uranium
balls, and 3 cans of gasoline. Now let's head back to the bathroom when we
first got outside in this chapter. You can save while you're here.
Equip the
raw meat and head to the east to find a dog. Once the dialogue ends and the dog
starts running, toss a piece of meat. It'll keep the dog busy for a few
seconds. Immediately run to the next screen to the right because the dog won't
be distracted for long! Once you enter the next screen, the dog will stop chasing
you. This next room will have two guards to the east. Approach the prisoner in
the window in the northwest corner and he'll distract the first guard. Knock
him out from behind as soon as he comes over. You'll talk to the prisoner again
and Jesse will promise him a radio.
Simply wait
for the other guard to turn his back to you to knock him out. Inspect his body
for an unencrypted radio. Enter the door at the top here and break all the
crates. You'll find a wooden platform, 2 first aid kits, and a circuit which we
can combine with the unencrypted radio to give to the prisoner. While we're at
it, combine the 4 plastic barrels we found with the wooden platform to make a
raft.
Now let's
head back towards the sewers. Make sure to have the raw meat equipped to
distract the dog. When you get back into the sewers, head to the right and use
the raft over the small channel to continue right. The next screen will have
two piranha human hybrids to deal with. Break the trash here for an empty
bottle.
Break the
wall behind the trash for the first secret of this chapter. Enter this room and
break the trash for a stamina upgrade.
You'll find
a shredder rolling back and forth on the next platform. Touch it and you die!
There's also a piranha human hybrid that will jump out as you start going to
the right in line with the shredder. Wait for the shredder to reach the far
right side to start going to the right just to spawn the piranha human hybrid.
Run away so the shredder kills it. For bonus points, you'll get an achievement
for killing 5 piranha human hybrids with shredders.
If you kill
5 human-piranha-hybrids with the shredders, you'll unlock the Shredded Tuna
achievement.
As it
starts rolling away, follow it and place a raft in the sewage water. Stand on
it to let the shredder pass and continue to the right as it passes by you, as
shown in the image above. There's a medal in the next room that will give you a
challenge for killing the 5 piranha human hybrids with shredders. Continue to
the north for another room with two shredders.
We can't go
up the ladder to the right just yet. We need to exit via the northwest corner.
Place a raft down as the shredder moves to the right and head to the far top
left corner of this platform. Wait for the shredder to pass by again and use
the raft to cross the water and go north. This next room will have a pile of
trash to the left that you can break for another empty bottle. You can outrun
these shredders. Neither one will reach the far right side where they look like
they meet. Run past the first one as it goes all the way to the left and just
roll as far right as you can. Now move to the north as the that shredder moves
away, using a raft to let it pass safely like before. Continue upwards and
three more piranha human hybrids will appear. Run back and follow the shredder
as it goes down. Place a raft down and just stand on it so the shredder kills
these two piranha human hybrids. Continue up the path and to the right when
it's safe.
The next
room will have two more piranha human hybrids. Use your raft to avoid the
shredders. You're better off just punching the first piranha human hybrid and
letting the shredder kill the second. If you've been killing the others with
the shredder, you'll unlock the Shredded Tuna achievement here. Use the raft to
get past the next shredder while killing the piranha human hybrid there as
well. In the next room, we'll get a dialogue prompt to talk about how many rats
there were. Say there were a lot so you can turn into a giant block of cheese
and have to outrun them!
This
section is all about just outrunning the rats! The path is really linear but
look out for piles of garbage blocking your path. You'll have to break them by
attacking them 3 times. The first split in the path will appear in the second
room. The path to the right is obviously a dead end so go down. Continue paying
attention to the splits in the paths. When you enter a room going south, you'll
be in the final room. Go right at this split and watch a shredder come by and
kill all the rats. Jesse will return to his human form at this point. Continue
to the right for a medal to craft a molotov cocktail. We can craft one by
mixing an empty bottle with gasoline and then a handkerchief!
Break the
trash here for a plastic drum. Climb up the ladder here. You can break the
crates to the right for some more gasoline and first aid kits. Enter the
bathroom to save and climb back down the ladder to return to the sewer. Cross
the small sewer channel to the right and break the trash in the lower right for
an old broken flamethrower. We'll need to fix it! Fortunately, we already have
all the supplies. Combine it with the plastic drum you just found and then
combine it with a can of gasoline. Here's a new handy tool to add to your
arsenal! Let's continue upwards through the sewers.
We'll need
to use the flamethrower to burn the stacks of tires. This area is rather tricky
because rats come busting out of the walls! Also, your flamethrower can
overheat as shown by a bar over Jesse. We have to control the flamethrower
without overheating it or it'll explode and kill you. Whenever you burn a set
of tires, you should always wait to cool your flamethrower before proceeding.
Every time you see rats come out of a wall, focus on them. It just takes a
quick burst to kill the rats within range so we don't have to hold it in one
direction. Simply follow this linear path burning tires and rats while
maintaining the heat of your flamethrower. The rat section will end when we reach
a room with two shredders in it.
You'll see
a single patch of water in the northeast corner. Place a raft on it and punch
the northern wall a few times to reveal a secret. Enter this room and break the
trash for a stamina upgrade.
Avoid the
shredders with the raft as you proceed to the right until we reach the next
boss, Sewerjunk!
If you
defeat this boss without the flamethrower, you'll unlock the Cold As Ice
achievement.
This boss
can be a bit tricky if you don't deal with the rats. The sewerjunk will emerge
randomly in different spots of the sewer water. You can always attack it at
range with the flamethrower or slingshot. The slingshot isn't really worth the
trouble because you won't have enough ammo. You could place a raft next to the boss
to reach it with punches though! After a couple of attacks, rats will spawn in
from both sides of the room. Take care of them with the flame thrower.
After you
deal about a quarter to half damage, you'll be asked how many tentacles. This
is where the game trolls you! If you say 2, Jesse will say there were two
dozen! If you say 4, Jesse will say four pairs! But you can say there were 6
and there are only six. Contrary to your immediate reaction, the easiest option
is to say six! Each tentacle will fire a single projectile at you every time
the boss emerges from the water. It'll also slam tentacles on the platform. If
you want to get up close to punch it, you'll have to attack the tentacles to
place a raft down, allowing you to reach the boss.
When you get
the boss down to about a quarter health, your flamethrower will malfunction! If
you want to just suicide and start the fight over, you can choose the
flamethrower exploding! This boss fight certainly is all about trolling the
player! Choose that it fell apart and we'll have to finish the fight with our
fists. The rats will stop appearing at this point. Just avoid its projectiles,
attack the tentacles with your fists, and place a raft down to finish the boss
off by punching it.
After you
defeat the boss, exit this room to the left. We'll have to avoid two more
shredders by using the raft to reach the final ladder. Climb up it to complete
this chapter. Next, we'll begin In the Lion's Den.
Begin this
chapter by smashing the crate right in front of you. You'll awaken the guard.
Wait for him to turn his head a few times to look around and then walk right up
to him and punch him a few times. Search his body for a coin. You can also
break the crate he's leaning on for a first aid kit. Let's head out of this
room through the door on the bottom of the screen. Enter the bathroom to the
left after the call with the Colonel and break the stall doors. The right door
will drop an empty potty. Save and return to the hallway. Let's proceed by
exiting this hallway to the south.
Use a coin
to distract the guard in this room and take him out as he's picking it up.
Search him to get your coin back. You can break the crates here, one will have
another first aid kit. We can head south and take out the single guard here.
Approach the door at the bottom of the screen for some brief dialogue, giving
us the next objective.
Return to
the previous room and take the path to the left. We'll be in this large room
with two guards. Wait for them to separate and take out the one that stays
along the bottom first. Use a coin to distract the other and take him out as
he's picking it up. One of the guards will have a handkerchief for you to loot
off his body. Exit this room to the north when it's clear. We'll find two doors
here. The door on the left is the only one we can open for now and will lead to
the sick bay. Enter it.
We'll have
a doctor point a gun at us! We can't do anything other than find something
sharp. Check your inventory and you'll find the Rusty Wire that we got in the
prison cell at the very start of the game. Equip it and use it. We'll go
through some more funny dialogue options as we trick the doctor into helping
us! She'll let you leave peacefully afterwards. Attack the coat rack on the
right side of the room for her key card. You can also attack the shelf behind
the coat rack for a first aid kit. Exit the room. Now let's enter the door on
the right. This will lead to a storage room. Break all the crates and we'll
find a gun and 10 bullets for it. Exit this storage room to the north.
There's a
single patrolling guard to the right on the other side of the boxes. Hide
behind the boxes for him to turn his back to you and quickly rush in to knock
him out. Run to the right for the next room. There's a single guard patrolling
a wide hallway here. Wait for him to start walking to the right and sneak
behind him to knock him out. Search his body for some bullets. At this split,
let's first go to the right. There are two guards here. Try to lure one into
the top left corner with a coin when the other is on the right wall. Knock him
out and move his body to the previous room. Now knock out the other when he's
not looking. Search their bodies for some bullets and enter the door in the top
right corner.
Punch the
middle of the map a few times in this room for a secret. This secret has a lot
of bullets, a bullet slot, and stamina.
Before we
leave this office, break the file cabinet on the left for a set of files. Read
them from your inventory and call the Colonel to tell him what you found. Now
return to the last split in the path and go north. We'll get a radio call from
the doctor, giving us our next objective.
Go up the
elevator. The objective may say to search floor 3 but we need to search floor 2
first. Go up one floor with the elevator and go to the south. We'll see a drone
here. Drones will fly around randomly and stop every few seconds to fire two
lasers at you. There's an achievement for destroying 5 of these with only
punches if you're up for a challenge but it'll be easier with your gun.
If you
destroy 5 drones with your fists, you'll unlock the Rage Against The Machine
achievement.
Regardless,
their attacks are fairly easy to avoid with rolls considering they're very
consistent. Practice dealing with the first one in this room since other rooms
will have more than one drone in a room. The path will split here. Let's take
the path to the right first. The first room here will have one drone. The next
will have two drones and two crates you can destroy for a total of 6 bullets.
The next room is a lot bigger of an area to deal with so you have more freedom
to take on another two drones. Break the crate here for 4 bullets. This next
room has 3 more drones and another crate for 3 bullets. The crate is tough to
get to, we suggest just exiting to the left quickly for a boss battle.
Megadron is
a large drone that will fly storage containers across the map to try to crush
you. There are a series of crates on the far left side of the map, each one has
bullets in them. The only way to damage this boss is by firing your gun at it.
The best way to approach this is to immediately head to the left side of the
room and start breaking the crates from left to right. Try to stay far to the
left when the boss comes by. Start firing your gun upwards at it when it's
getting close so you can land 4 or 5 shots before it drops the container.
Quickly roll away. There are set slots the boss can drop these containers.
There are essentially two rows of drop locations, either the top row or bottom
row on this bridge. It's easier to roll south than north here so try to stay on
the top row to bait the first container then roll south. When it comes for the
next container, roll to the east.
The boss
can fill this bridge up quickly and even block you in until it crushes you.
Break the crates and reload every time the boss flies away. Get as many shots
as you can and roll away once it drops a container. Keep repeating this process
until you destroy the boss. You should be able to destroy it by the time the
boss reaches about the halfway point of the map if you have been filling up the
left side of the bridge with containers. Once it blows up, all the containers
it drops will be removed from the bridge as well.
Exit this
bridge to the left and you'll get a call from the doctor.
Enter the
room here and break the right locker, it's golden, for a thermal suit. Now go
down the ladder. You'll be in a storage room full of chemicals. Break all the
crates to get all sorts of goodies in here. After you collected everything in
this room. Go into your inventory and combine "Chloro" and "Form"
to make chloroform. You didn't think this game was going to suddenly turn into
a complicated chemistry simulator did you? It is that easy here! Now combine
the chloroform with a handkerchief to get a handkerchief with chloroform,
allowing you to safely take out guards without hurting them. Exit this room
through the door to the south.
You can
unlock the Collateral Damage achievement by mixing the water and sodium you
found in this room! It'll kill you so you may want to wait until you save.
There's a
guard here listening to music. Test out the chloroform by equipping it and
using it like a weapon. You have to hold right trigger for three seconds to
take the guard out. Now head to the east. You'll notice you're on the lower set
of platforms. Break the crate here for another bullet slot and continue north.
Go through the door for a storage room and break the crates in here for some
goodies. Push the crate on the left side out of your way and climb up the
ladder. We'll be back at the elevator. Go up it to reach the third floor.
Follow the
path until we reach a thermal sensor. Equip the anti-thermal suit and activate
it. You'll see Jesse wearing it to know that it's on. Use it to get through the
thermal sensor. You'll notice you can roll or punch with this suit on. Move
south of the large crate and take the suit off to punch the closest crate. Put
the suit back on and grab the battery from this crate. Continue to the next
room.
Use the
suit to get past the sensor and take it off at the top of the room. You can
break the crate here to get past the sensor. Break the other crate up here from
the right side to reveal another battery. Enter the door above and we'll be in
a small office. Break the file cabinet on the left for more files on Operation
Jerico. Read them from your inventory and call the Colonel to tell him what you
learned. Now we can exit the office and break the two right most crates at the
bottom. You'll get some bullets and a battery. Let's proceed to the next room
to the south after we get those.
This room
will have two thermal sensors. Put on your thermal suit and go to the top right
corner. Take the suit off to destroy the top right most crate. Now put the suit
back on and head to the bottom, then to the left. You'll see 4 breakable crates
here. Break the outer two crates for a battery in each. Put your suit on to
collect them. Now head to the left most crate here and break it. Put the suit
back on again to head towards the top left corner. Don't go through the door
yet, instead break the two crates to the right for two batteries. Now we can go
through the door. Break the file cabinet on the left for the Alpha Building
Map. Leave this room and go to the left for a funny room where you can pick
whatever obstacle is in your way. It'll take a while to get across so enjoy the
ridiculousness. Break the middle crate here for a battery. Before exiting this
room, equip your anti thermal suit because there's a sensor at the start of the
next room. Use it to get to the bottom and break the crate blocking your path.
Put the
suit back on and break these three crates for three more batteries. Put your
suit on and head to the next room to the left. Speak with maintenance Mike
here.
All the
batteries were already mentioned above. They'll be in crates on this floor that
you can destroy without being spotted by sensors in each room. If you missed
one, refer to the guide above on where to find them. Give them to Mike to shut
down the lasers and go through the door.
A timer
will begin for two minutes. We have to head back to the elevator using the same
path we just took with a two minute timer. Fortunately, there are some short
cuts with boxes we had to destroy for batteries. Make sure you have your suit
equipped at all times until you reach some guards right before the elevator.
Equip your
gun and shoot the guards quickly before they shoot you. Break the crates here.
If you do not have at least 4 first aid kits, you'll find some in these crates.
Apply the first aid kits to the guards and proceed to the next room. There are
two more guards in front of the elevator. Shoot each of them with your gun as
well and heal them with your first aid kits as well. Go down to the first floor
from here. Continue to the sick bay by going left at the split and we'll run
into the officer going into the doctor's sick bay.
When the
officer is coming out, we just have to run to the top right corner of the room
to hide.
Simply head
into the sick bay. You'll get a choice to lean in for a kiss or do nothing. If
you have a good feeling of the tone of this game, you should absolutely go for
the kiss! Regardless of what you pick, you'll get your first aid kits restocked
and be sent to neutralize the officer.
Head south
to fight the boss.
Lt.
Marksuon will lock you in this room with pillars and two guards helping him.
Immediately start by shooting the two guards. We still need to heal them with
first aid kits! Head down to their bodies to heal them quickly before they die!
The boss will run around randomly in here stopping when he can look down the
rows and columns. He'll shoot a single shot and then run to the next spot. Just
chase him around and shoot him yourself. If you shoot him before he shoots, he
won't stop to shoot, he'll keep running to the next spot.
After you
deal about a third damage, he will stop to taunt you. He'll run around the same
but fire three shots each time he stops instead of one. You'll also find lasers
like the ones in the image above appear randomly between pillars. When you see
them start to flash, make sure to roll out of the way! Simply touching a laser
will instantly kill you, even from full health. It needs to be a top priority
to avoid these lasers. Keep attacking him when you can until you can defeat
him. Once he's down, go heal him with a first aid kit to get the level 3 card.
You'll
remember the exit is in the southeastern corner of this floor. However, don't
go there just yet! We need to return to the second floor for the other secret
in this stage. You can stop at the sick bay for some more first aid kits in the
shelf. Ultimately, head back to the elevator and take it to the second floor.
Once on the second floor, go down and left. Follow this path while dealing with
the drones and go through the door at the end.
Punch the
top right most corner of the wall a few times to reveal this secret with a
stamina and a couple of bullet slots.
Now we can
head back to the first floor to where we fought Lt. Markuson. You have to carry
him to the exit! Pick him up and bring him to the exit by going to the east
then south. Bring his body to the exit door to open it up with a retina scanner
with his body and use the key to complete this chapter. If you can't leave,
it's because you haven't found all the files. There are only two files to find
in this chapter
·
In
the file cabinet in the office to the east of the elevator on the first floor.
·
In
the file cabinet in the office in the northeast corner of the third floor.
If you have
both files, let's exit through the door to complete the chapter and move on to
Welcome to the Jungle.
The path
will split immediately at the start of this chapter. We can either head south
or east. Start off by going south first. Equip your handkerchief with
chloroform and take out the guards one at a time. Inspect their bodies for a
handkerchief, cigarettes, and bullets. Walk into the back of the truck here.
Punch the only breakable box in the back of
this truck for a stamina upgrade.
Exit the
back of this truck and head back north to the start of this chapter and then go
to the right. We'll reach an area full of dogs. You have two options, one is
smell and one is ears. You can pick which sense the dogs are stronger at. The
easier route is hearing. If you choose smell, you'll see your odor moving with
the wind and you'll have to move so the odor doesn't touch any of the dogs.
Picking sound will mean you just have to move slowly. You just have to keep
tapping the move instead of holding it in order to move slowly. If you're using
a controller, it's easier to use your d-pad than an analog stick for this.
However, before we move up, let's return to the previous screen. Call the
Colonel and tell him not to call you! If you don't, he'll call while you're
right in the middle of the pack of dogs for a hilarious sequence. Sneak past the
dogs and exit to the right.
After a
cutscene, just take out both guards with chloroform. Obviously the path to the
south is filled with landmines, so let's go to the east. This screen will be
filled with question marks but it won't stop us from progressing. Move ahead
and you'll run into a sleeping guard. Just punch him a few times for the XP and
search him for a coin.
Before we
enter this building, explore the trees until you reach the yellow circle in the
image above. A stamina upgrade will appear in the middle of the screen.
Enter the
door here and break all the crates for bullets, then enter the sewer.
Break the
crate in this room for some bullets and exit to the south. We'll be in a long
corridor. The end of the hallway to the far right will have a turret that will
pop out of the floor when it spots you to fire two lasers. Run to the left and
you can easily dodge these bullets. We can't open the door on the left side of
this room so let's exit this one to the north. This next room has a turret in
the floor on the left side. Just run for the northern door here and hide on the
left side. You'll be protected from the bullets here. Quickly head to the left
after it hides back underground.
There are
two turrets in this room. They'll be shown by the yellow circles in the first
image above. As you approach each one, run away and then roll to the side to
avoid their shots. The next room has three! You'll see their locations in the
second image above. This room is tricky, you'll have to time your rolls to avoid
the shots. The room after is shown in the third image above. This one is just
like the last, you'll have to time your rolls to avoid the shots. Run through
the small corner of the next room and we'll have two more turrets to deal with.
One will be at the first bend and then ext will be at the split where you can
go north. In that room, there's nothing to the south and the east side only has
some bullets in crates. We want to go through the door to the north.
We'll be in
this room full of grates spitting flames out. We need to time our movements and
rolls through the grates when the flames go down. There's a bathroom to the
left that we can save at and we can actually just run to it without going
through any of the flaming grates. Just hug the southern wall going south of
all the pipes and we can go right for the bathroom. Save and work your way
through the pipes without getting burned. The eastern boxes here all have
bullets. The northwestern box will have more bullets and the middle western box
will have a first aid kit. Collect what you'd like and exit this room to the
north when ready. The next room is more of the same but will require you moving
through more fiery grates. Just wait near the start to see where the next spot
to go is. In general, a set of flames cover two grates and your roll will get
you just past it. Don't ever try to move through two sets of flames in one
movement and take your time. Enter the next room for a boss battle.
This is
just a fight with several turrets. It may seem tough at first glance but it's
rather simple overall once you understand the fight. At any given moment, there
will only be two turrets shooting at the same time. You can destroy each turret
with two shots from your hand gun. Once you destroy one, a new turret will
appear elsewhere in the room.
Move around
and roll to avoid the shots. You can prefire to get your shots to land just as
the turret is about to pop out of the floor as well! Just keep moving to avoid
their shots and learn where the next turret will appear. Get in position to
attack the next turret and take two quick shots right as it's about to appear
to destroy the turret. Keep repeating this process to destroy all the turrets.
There are 10 turrets in total. If you ever run out of bullets, you can get more
by destroying the boxes in the middle of the room.
After you
destroy all the turrets, a box will appear in the top left corner of this room.
Break it to get the basement key. Now we need to head back through the rooms
with the flames. Enter the bathroom again to save.
Before we
exit the bathroom, punch the northwest wall here for a secret room. We'll need
the basement key to open the gate up here to break the crates. We'll get an
ammo slot and stamina here.
Now let's
head south of these fire rooms. This path will split in four directions, head
south. Open the gate here with the basement key and continue to the south. We
can now go through the gate on the western side of this room. Just avoid the
turret in the southwest corner of this room. Break all the boxes in here for
bullets, a first aid kit, and most importantly, a metal detector! Now let's get
back above ground. Exit this room and follow the path to the east to climb up
the ladder that we used to head underground. Go to the left when we're outside
and south towards the mine field.
This
section can be very frustrating. The game will force us to move very slowly so
we can keep using the metal detector. You want to use it very often! The mines
also won't stay showing, they'll disappear after a second or two so you have to
memorize the path. The best path to take is near the middle and then to the
right of the explosion. You have to position yourself very careful at times to
move perfectly between some tight landmines so take your time here. Once you
reach the bottom of the screen, we'll fortunately reach a checkpoint and the
game will autosave.
We'll have
to go through another mine field. The best way to approach this is start in the
northeast and head straight southwest until we get to the middle of this field.
If you want to get the medal, approach it carefully. From the middle of this
field, head southeast a bit and then follow the path to the east while avoiding
the landmines. The next room will have an option of either flies or frogs.
They're both very dangerous. Either way, just move and roll to avoid them to
enter the next minefield. We want to stick to the eastern side of this screen,
only venturing towards the middle when we're forced to. When you reach the
bottom of this screen, we'll reach another checkpoint.
The path
will split after this minefield. You can take either one, they'll both lead to
a corpse that begins a labyrinth. We'll find a corpse here, inspect it by
running towards it. A cutscene will take over. The labyrinth for now doesn't
have a real exit. Just head west or east and follow the path until we run into
the corpse again. After you do, just explore west or east one more time until
we run into the corpse yet again! Our interrogator will begin to question if
we're going for the same corpse or not. We can now search the corpse for the
needless compass. Try combining the Rusty Wire with the Needless Compass to
trigger the next cutscene where you will spot the needle in the tall grass.
Unfortunately, a bird spots it first and grabs it! Head to the east first from
here. At the next split, go south and you'll immediately reach another split,
go east. You'll find the bird fly down here.
Slowly move
towards the bird. If it flies away, just head back to the left side of the
screen and it'll come back down. Toss a coin to it and just back away. It'll
hop towards the coin and drop the needle to take the coin. Now pick up the
needle and combine it with the needless compass. Use it and it'll point in the
right direction. Just use it in every new screen to find which way you need to
go. We need to go west, south, south, east, & south. We'll reach a plant
that will attack you with its vine when you walk in front of it. There's still
more to go. Head west, west, south, south, east, north, east, east, north,
east, south, south, west, west, and south. We'll reach the end of the labyrinth
in a screen full of question marks.
When we
exit the labyrinth, punch this tree in the screen of question marks a few times
until a stamina upgrade appears in the top right corner.
Now just
head to the right. We'll see a sergeant yelling at a group of recruits. Just
run past them. One of the recruits will spot you but nothing will happen.
Continue ahead until we see a truck leaving the barracks.
Simply walk
behind the truck and we'll complete this chapter! We'll unfortunately be pulled
back into The Barracks and have to escape from there.
Sneak
around the front of the truck to take out the first guard as he walks away. We
can enter the first building on the right to break some boxes. We'll find
bullets, a first aid kit, and a pair of binoculars. They'll let you look a
screen away to preview the next screen before you enter it! Exit the building
and head to the north. You'll see a group of soldiers patrolling the base. Step
out when they walk by to lure the first guard and hide behind the boxes here.
Knock him out as he approaches and you'll get a prompt to hide guards in buildings.
Carry him back to the previous screen and hide him in the building. Might as
well hide the starting guard too! Now head back to the area in the image above
and wait for the guards to patrol by. Once they do, follow them to the west.
You'll find
a bathroom here to save your progress. Exit and knock out the guard to the
left. Carry his body into the door to the left of him. You can break the crates
in here for some goodies. Wait for the arrows to appear so you know the platoon
of soldiers runs by before exiting. Follow them south. Hide on the right side
of the truck here and wait for the western guard to walk away. Use your
chloroform on the guard in front of the truck when the other guard turns away
and carry his body to the east to hide it in the building here.
Break the
top right bunk in this building to reveal a hidden hatch leading to a secret
room with some goodies including your typical secret stamina upgrade.
Now exit
the building and go to the west. Wait behind the truck for when it's safe to
take out the next guard. Hide him in the building here. You'll get a random
call from some hacker that doesn't help you right now. Exit the building when
the patrolling guards run by. Use your binoculars to inspect the next screen.
Wait for the guards here to turn away to enter the next screen and take out the
closer guard. If needed, drag him in between the buildings on the right hand
side but ultimately, we need to get him inside this building. Head outside to
take out the other guard and also bring him into this building. Now exit and go
up to the north through the small alley to the right. Take out the guard when
he's not looking and bring his body into this building. There are some guards
playing DND in here! Don't worry, they won't attack you. You can leave them
alone but if you want an extra bullet slot from the crate at the top right,
you'll have to take them on.
Continue to
the north when ready for one guard patrolling. There are no buildings to hide
him in here so hide him behind the lower boxes as seen in the image above. The
guards won't spot him or you here. Before we continue, wait for the patrol to
run by and carry the guard into the previous building. You can't save with a
guard outside and there's a bathroom just ahead. Hug the northern wall on the
eastern side and wait for the southern guard to walk away. Use the chloroform
on the northern guard here and move him into the bathroom as you knock him out.
Pay attention to the arrows before leaving the bathroom to know when it's safe
to take out the other guard. Carry him into the bathroom and save again. Now
exit and head north. Enter the building to the left behind the truck to find a
guard that will pass out drunk.
Search
Mike's body for the permission slip and exit the building. You'll see another
bathroom in the next screen to the east. If you enter, you'll fight with the
Drill Sergeant. The intro screen makes it appear to be a boss fight but you
just go through dialogue; be sure to choose Stolen -> Clue -> Place if
you want to win! Regardless, there's some hilarious dialogue with a great King
of the Hill joke thrown in! When ready, continue to the east of this bathroom.
There will be one guard patrolling in front of the next building. Take him out
and drag his body into the building. You'll be in the officer's building. Use
the Permission Slip on the desk in the top left corner to stamp it. Now we need
to return to Mike and place the note back on his body to complete this
secondary objective. You'll be rewarded with a new crate here with a potty in
it.
Head back
to the east until you reach the officer's building again and go south this
time. You'll see two guards. Use a coin to lure them out one at a time and
knock them out. The first guard can be pulled into the officer's building to
hide him and the second can be pulled into the building in the southwest corner
of this screen. When in that building, break all the boxes and attack the
grenade cabinet on the left. Keep attacking it for grenades to keep coming out
of it until your inventory is full for grenades.
In this
shed, attack the wall to the right of the grenade cabinet a few times to break
it for a secret containing a bulletproof vest. This will prevent bleeding from
every other shot you take.
Let's head
back out of this building and north towards the officer's building. We need to
head to the west through the opening in the northern side of the fence. Follow
this path until we meet a boss.
Machine Gun
Mike requires you to have some quick feet and grenades! You'll see a series of
sandbags near the bottom of the screen while he aims at you with his machine
gun. Keep moving back and forth, you actually want him to destroy all the
sandbags in the middle. They'll drop grenades which we can use but you should
be full from the shed south of the officer's shed.
With all the sandbags destroyed, keep running
until you reach the far wall. Turn back and roll under the shots as shown in
the video above. When he stops firing, run up and throw two grenades at him.
You'll only have time to throw two, don't get greedy. After the two throws,
head back to a lower corner and keep running to avoid the shots again. After
you hit him with 4 grenades, he'll play a trick on you. Once he stops firing,
he'll keep a few rounds in his machine gun so don't go in for the grenade hits
yet! Wait for the last burst a second after he stops firing, then finish him
off. He'll need to take 6 grenades in total to defeat.
After you
defeat him, let's head south again when the patrolling guards run away to get
more grenades from the shed south of the officer's building. Save in the
officer's building again and head north through where you defeat Machine Mike.
There are
two achievements you can get from this boss fight. If you want to get them
both, just get one and reload your save to get the other.
There are 5
trucks in total in this fight. If you destroy all 5 yourself, you'll unlock the
Finders Destroyers achievement! Hide behind crates so the boss blows the crates
up and blow the trucks up yourself with your own explosives.
On the
contrary, if you let Splash Mike destroy everything, that's all the crates and
trucks, you'll unlock the Splash Damage achievement! If you're going for this,
just run around hiding behind everything without even trying to hurt Mike and
you can reload afterwards. It's really easy this way it just takes some
patience.
This boss
is significantly tougher than the first. You'll see the truck in front of you
explode immediately and Mike will come out in a tank! Pick up the rocket
launcher that appears from the truck that explodes and run behind the crates
for cover. The tank will tank a single shot at you with its cannon before
having to reload. The shell has a large blast radius so unless you're on the
far end of the room, you won't be able to avoid it without cover. Furthermore,
you can only damage it by shooting it with a rocket launcher from behind!
You'll see the tracks on the ground for where the tank can travel. It'll travel
in 2 different possible squares right next to each other. Where it turns from
the middle is always random. Once you see it turn from the middle, the path is
completely predictable until it reaches the middle again. Pick up the rockets
as they appear from the blown up trucks and crates. You can only carry two at a
time and we want to use them as often as possible! Remember, when all the
cover's gone in this fight, you're practically a dead man! Get behind him
whenever you get a chance and fire rockets at him. It will take 7 rockets in
total to destroy the tank. When you shoot it 3 times, it'll also begin shooting
a machine gun towards you whenever you get close. This makes the second half of
the fight significantly tougher. The machine gun can also destroy the cover so
try to move and roll to avoid the machine guns and using any cover to avoid
tank shells. Make sure to get behind it for rocket launcher shots whenever you
can until you defeat the boss. There really isn't any tips on how to cheese this
fight, it may take a few tries depending on your difficulty level. Just make
sure to stay behind cover and take every opportunity you can to attack!
When we
first gain control of Jesse, we'll be trapped in the back of the truck. We
can't exit. You have to use the radio to call Colonel Harris. After the call,
we'll roll out of the back of the truck in a cutscene and truly begin the
chapter.
Start this
chapter off by throwing a grenade over 5 boxes in the top right corner of this
screen to unlock the Just Some Boxes achievement.
Punch the
other and we'll get plenty of grenades and first aid kits. Head to the south
until you get spotted by some engineers. They'll power up a radial saw that
will follow you back and forth. Go around the crates here and go north to the
east of the crates.
Break these
large boxes to reveal a hidden grate beneath them. Climb down the ladder in the
grate to find a secret room with some boxes. Break them for a grenade slot and
three bullet slots.
Now go
south along the eastern wall. Throw a grenade so it only beaks the terminal the
right most engineer is using. It'll knock him out and he'll bleed out so hurry
back around the left side where you came from. Use your handgun to shoot each
terminal a few times until they both explode. With all three terminals down,
you'll see the saw moving rapidly back and forth. Head to the right side and
roll by as it moves away. Quickly heal all three engineers with your first aid
kits and break the boxes for more first aid kits as well as grenades. The next
room will have a similar set up. Go south along the far eastern wall and use a
grenade to take out the right most terminal. Loop back around to the left side
to take out the other two terminals. Roll past the saw when it's safe and
quickly heal the engineers.
We'll find
a rescue submarine in the next room. Enter it and walk up to the control panel.
We'll find another set of files. Read them from your inventory and call the
Colonel over the radio. Climb back out of this submarine and we'll get a call
from Robert about what we just learned. Go through the southern gate and
continue down to the next screen. Walk towards the recycling bin in the lower right
corner of the screen and we'll get rid of any items we no longer need. Break
the box next to the recycling bin to get a key. Now head back to the submarine
and use the key on the control panel inside the submarine.
The game
will begin to play an underwater section like a 2D platformer. Control the
submarine carefully. You'll always sink and touching anything will cause
massive damage whether it's a wall or floor. The path will split immediately.
We can't go down yet so go to the right. You'll see sea mines all over.
Carefully maneuver around them to surface at the top of the screen. Exit the
submarine to enter a different hangar. There's a bathroom here we can save our
progress at. Head towards the torpedoes in the lower left side of the screen
with the submarine and just wait there to fill up your inventory on them. You
can carry 50 at a time! Now it's time to blow things up! Get back in the
submarine. Go to the left when underwater and take the lower path this time.
Use the torpedoes to blow up the sea mines blocking your path. The next room
will also have three sea mines as well as a turret that shoots torpedoes at
you. Blow them all up and head to the right side of this room.
Blow up the
top right section of wall where it looks cracked with a torpedo and you'll
reveal a hidden stamina!
Continue to
the right after getting that stamina and you'll be in the room shown above.
There's a turret on the far right we'll have to take out first. Take out the
missiles as shown in the two images above. The top left two will have to be
blown up from the top right corner through the pipe. Exit this screen through
the upper left corner and blow up the mines blocking your path. Head to the
right for a boss battle.
If you
defeat the Hugeel without missing a single shot on it, you'll unlock the Unagi
Blast achievement.
The hugeel
is exactly what it sounds like, a huge eel! You'll see three holes on the right
side of the screen. The eel will always appear in the hole that you are in
front of and try to swim across the screen to bite you. If it grabs hold of
you, you'll have to tap buttons repeatedly to break loose as it will continue
to damage you! This fight is rather straight forward. As it swims towards you,
it will open its mouth wide to try to bite you. You have to shoot a torpedo
down its throat so it explodes in its belly. It'll take 6 successful shots to
destroy. Move up or down, whichever way is safe and your momentum is carrying
you, after you shoot to avoid being bit. You want to fire shortly after it
appears. You can fire too early and waste a torpedo. You also have to be
accurate because hitting its teeth will cause it to blow up without causing any
damage. Fire 6 torpedoes down its throat while avoiding its attacks to defeat
this boss.
Head
through one of the holes to the right and surface in the next screen to
complete this chapter. We will now move on to Boom Docks.
Open the
two highlights containers as we start this chapter. We'll find a potty in the
left container and 10 million dollars in the right container! Now we can head
to the left. We'll get a radio call before we exit this screen. This next
screen will have a boat that moves left and right along the water and fire a
machine gun at you. There is another 10 million dollars in the middle container
but it's really tough to get without getting shot. You'll have to be quick if
you want to grab it! Let's first head to the north. Inspect the middle
container here for another 10 million dollars.
There are
two secrets here. Punch the brown crate in the top right and climb down the
ladder for some boxes to break for goodies. Climb out of here and break the
wall between the two crates at the top. You'll enter a small hidden room here.
Punch the top left most crate here to reveal another hidden hatch. Climb down
it and you'll be in the left underground room for more goodies!
Climb out
of these secret areas and enter the bathroom to save. Head back to the south
and then head west. You can safely open the container from the start for another
10 million dollars. Now we have to go to the left. This area is tricky. A boat
will appear just as you start breaking the boxes. This part just requires some
patience. Only throw two punches at a time before running back and hiding
behind the container. This will give you time to hide from their shots. Keep
doing this until you can exit to the next screen to the left.
This screen
just requires some patience. Simply wait by this container until an enemy walks
up to you. It may take a while until one finally walks by your container so
just stay patient. After you take him out, take out the other guard without
getting spotted. With the area clear, let's first head west. Talk to the sea
captain and he'll tell you he'll sell his ship for $50 million. Fortunately,
we're already close since we've been checking the storage containers along the
way!
Return to
the previous screen and head north. There are two guards that patrol back and
forth together. Sneak behind them when they both walk away and knock out the
first with your chloroform. Now knock out the second before he turns around.
Check the containers here for another 10 million dollars. We now have enough to
buy the SS Velles! Before we head back, head to the west and search the right
container in the top left for a first aid kit. Now let's head back to the
captain and purchase the SS Velles from him.
Unfortunately,
a lightning bolt will sink the ship right after you pay for it! Even worse, the
captain won't give you your money back! Return to where you took out the last
two patrolling guards and a lightning strike will open the path northwards for
you!
There will
be another gunner boat on the northern waters here. You can search the northern
container here for a first aid kit. Break the boxes to the left and run for
cover between punches to avoid the gunner boat until you can enter the next
screen. There's a bathroom here for you to save in. Search the next two
containers to the left of the bathroom for a grenade and 10 million dollars.
Let's continue to the left. There's another gunner boat along the southern edge
of this screen. This time, there's no container to hide behind! We'll have to
keep punching through the boxes and roll past the bullets as it's flying
similar to how you took on Machine Mike. Exit to the left as soon as you can.
Head south for a boss battle.
This boss
is very tough. You can only damage this sub with explosives so you'll have to
make use of your grenades and rockets. Its attacks are the tricky part, it'll
fire off a barrage of missiles that come down, leaving fire behind that will
burn you when you run over it! There are plenty of boxes here that you can
destroy for more grenades and rockets. The grenades can deal damage anywhere on
the sub and the rockets have to hit the tall part of the sub. First thing's
first. We want to clear out a lot of the crates near the top. Equip your
grenades and try to destroy as many boxes at the top as you can with three
grenades. Don't even start attacking the boss until this is done. When the
missiles come down, run in a straight line as high as you can on this dock.
When the sub resurfaces, head down and throw everything you have at it! When it
starts to drop underwater again, run back up and run in a straight line just
below the last line of fire. You need to keep the missiles hitting the top of
the platform and running to the lower section to destroy the sub whenever you
can. Just pick up more explosives while you avoid the sub's missiles. As you
deal more damage, parts of the docks will be destroyed, leaving you with less
room to run to. Don't get too risky because if a single missile hits you,
you'll die instantly. You could, however, run through the fire while taking
only a little bit of damage. Keep targeting the sub when it's safe and run away
to keep yourself alive until you defeat it. Collect whatever you can quickly
and exit this platform in the upper left before it sinks undersea!
Search the
container to the right for a grenade. We can head to the left for a crate at
the end of the dock for some gasoline but there's a gunner boat here along the
southern edge so be careful. Ultimately, we want to continue to the north.
We'll find
two guards standing at the door ahead. Wait for them to look around and then
quickly grab the left guard right after they look to the left. Pull his body
behind this storage container. Now do the same for the right guard. Check the
containers here for 3 first aid kits in total. Enter the building and we'll
find two boats in here. You have the choice on how to start them. Pick GSL for
either one and you'll need gasoline. Fortunately, we just got some on the
docks. If you chose string for the left boat, you can backtrack towards where
you fought the sub for a new box with the string. If you chose key on the right
boat, just use the key you got when purchasing the SS Velles. Pick which boat
you want. The left boat is faster and more maneuverable with a machine gun
while the right boat is slower but has a rocket launcher. You can also travel a
bit on dirt and rocks with the right boat without crashing.
Fortunately
the checkpoint is before you pick your ship so if you don't like one, you can
try the other if you fail. The left boat has a more superior weapon but it's
harder to avoid all the hazards your way. We recommend trying the left boat
first because you don't have to aim the machine gun. The best strategy is to
just hold the machine gun down and focus on avoiding all the hazards. Don't
even worry about trying to hit the helicopter with the machine gun, just focus
on staying alive and you'll blow it up soon enough! The rocket launcher ship is
really tough. Everything is slower but you have to time your rocket launcher
shots making it possibly drag on.
When the
Black Thunder helicopter eventually blows up, we'll finish this chapter and
move on to A Thousand Eyes Are Watching You.
Start this
chapter out by punching all of the reeds. Pick up the reeds that are left
behind for a total of six. Head north to talk to an old man and listen to his
tales. After he's done talking, head to the right to reach the compound.
Hug the
northern wall so you walk under the cameras until you reach the gate for
another cutscene for yet another objective.
Head back
to the old man and take his bolt cutters. Now let's return to the gate and use
the bolt cutters to open it up. We'll reach a bathroom we can save at and the
path will split. Let's go to the right to trigger a new objective.
We need to
somehow figure out how to make a clone of Mike! We can't do anything here yet
so let's exit to the left. Go left again and break the first crate here for a
string. There's nothing else to do on this screen at the moment so return to
the right and then go north.
There are
two cameras in this room and they don't turn in unison. First, head to the top
left corner when the left camera isn't looking to break the crate for another
string. Now hug the wall to get under the camera and when the first camera
looks to the left, move in below the crates at the top. Wait for both cameras
to look away and quickly run under the lower right crates as shown in the image
above. Wait for the right camera to look to the left and run up the wall to
exit this screen to the right. Wait for the first camera here to turn away and
hide below the crates in the bottom left of this screen. Run past them when the
camera turns to the left and hug the wall to walk under the middle camera and
go through the door. Break the lockers for two uniforms. You'll need these to
create a clone of Mike! In order to create the clone we need to:
·
Combine
3 Reeds and 1 String to craft Tied Reeds.
·
Combine
the Tied Reeds with the Uniform.
Now let's
backtrack using the same methods to avoid the cameras until we reach the
bathroom. Head back t the right to reach Mike. Fortunately, these cameras move
very slowly. Wait for the camera to turn away and quickly chloroform Mike,
pulling him to the left behind the tree. Quickly run to where he was standing
and place one of the statues down to fool the camera. Now we just need to sneak
under the crates ahead for cover and sneak past the camera to the next room.
We'll be in the same exact situation, just with a different room layout. Knock
Mike out and drag him away. Quickly place down another statue where he was to
fool the camera.
The first
secret of this stage is in this tree. Just punch it three times when the camera
turns away to reveal a hidden stamina upgrade.
After we
get that stamina upgrade, enter the door to the left. Break the crates in here
for a first aid kit and bullets. Now keep punching the grenade shelf on the
left until you get 12 electromagnetic grenades. You can use these by throwing
them at cameras and disabling them briefly. Let's backtrack to the bathroom.
You don't need to disable the cameras, it's just a waste of electromagnetic
grenades at this point. Just avoid them the same way you did when you came
here. Save when you reach the bathroom and continue to the left.
You have to
be quick here. Throw an electromagnetic grenade at the camera as shown in the
screenshot above. Now quickly move down and break one of the crates. Run
through it and hide next to the tree ahead.
There's a
hidden door behind this tree. Hug the wall and you'll hear the door open. Enter
it and break the crates for some goodies in here.
Use another
electromagnetic grenade on the left camera and run past it for the next screen.
Use another electromagnetic grenade on the first camera of this screen to sneak
past it. You'll reach another locked gate. Equip the bolt cutters and wait
right at the chain. Toss an electromagnetic grenade at the camera and
immediately start cutting the chain. The grenade will explode before you open
the gate and you can run straight north. Use another grenade on the first
camera of the next screen and break the crates to the right of it. Enter this
little alcove to toss a grenade at the camera to the right to sneak by to the
next screen.
First
thing's first, you'll see a trash can in the top left corner of this screen.
Sneak up to it when the cameras aren't looking and attack it until you get a
pizza box. Now we can sneak to the first crate when the left camera looks away.
The cameras can spot you behind the barrels so wait for them to both turn to
the outside. Move behind the crate shown in the image above. The two crates on
the right will have two electromagnetic grenades. You can break them if you'd
like to go for them when both cameras are looking to the left. After you grab
them, move up to the fire extinguisher in the top right corner and punch it a
few times. Now go into your inventory and equip the pizza box. Try using it
anywhere and you'll inspect it to find that it was a pepperoni pizza. Now
combine the pizza box with the fire extinguisher to make a Smoking Pizza Box.
Now we want
to get below the boxes in front of the right camera. Toss an electromagnetic
grenade at the right camera when the left camera looks away and move up to the
door from the right side. We'll have to talk to a guard through the intercom.
The first correct option is "Pizza" and the second correct option is
"Pepperoni." We'll enter the building to complete this chapter and
move on to Jerico's Heart.
Once we
gain control of Jesse Fox, let's head to the computer on the right. Punch it
until it breaks as shown in the image above. We'll find a wire for the alarm
code in here.
Simply
equip the bolt cutters and use it on the wires. This will make things easier,
the alarms won't trigger on this floor anymore! Move to the next room and
you'll get a choice between which kind of guards are ahead. Pick Scandinavian.
Exterminators are practically invincible and you'll never be able to get
through them alive. Put the Scandinavian guards to sleep by walking behind each
with the chloroform. They'll only stay asleep for 5 seconds before waking up.
There are two ways to deal with Scandinavian guards.
The first
method is to carry them as you put them asleep and put them next to a wall.
Just make sure to turn so the guard is between you and the wall. This way, when
he gets up, he's just staring at the wall. They don't walk so you can disable
them doing this. You can also break the crates at the top of this room when
both guards are knocked out. Each box will contain a string. You can use the
string to tie up the guards when they're asleep so they can't get up. There are
a lot of strings to use but it's easier to just drag some guards into corners.
For the sake of making things a bit easier later, let's tie these first two
guards up with the string.
Now let's
head north. Hug the western wall and wait for the guard to look away. Sneak up
next to him along the northern wall and put him to sleep. Carry his body as far
to the western wall as you can. Pull him into the bottom left corner here. We
can enter the room he was guarding for some goodies. Proceed to the right when
ready. Break the box in this room for some more string and continue to the
right. Knock out this guard and tie him up. We can enter the room to the right
for a grenade locker to fill up on electromagnetic grenades. Exit this small
room to the previous room.
Punch the
third large fuel drum here a few times until it breaks. Climb down the ladder
for this secret. The nicest thing in here is a Blood Bag which will refill your
health instantly!
Now head
south. There's a single guard in this room. Put him to sleep and carry his body
into the previous room. Put him just north of the pumps in the middle of the
room so he'll be staring right into the back of them. Head back down and enter
the room he was guarding for some goodies. Now move to the lower left corner.
Use your binoculars on this room to know when it'll be safe to enter and put
the closer guard to sleep. Move his body to the right and into the small room
here the previous guard was blocking. Head to the lower left corner again and
use your binoculars to safely sneak up on the patrolling guard. Tie this one
up. Before we enter the first room, check your inventory. There will be crates in
here and we can choose what will be inside them, grenades, rockets, or first
aid kits. Pick whatever you need the most and break them for your reward! Now
exit this small room. We can't go through the top left door yet. Break the
crate next to it for some string. Now let's head to the left until we reach a
bathroom where we can save our progress.
To take out
these guards without getting spotted, you need to punch the wall as shown in
the image above. Wait around the corner for the closer guard to come inspect.
Wait for him to start walking back and follow him to take him out with the
chloroform. Drag him to the bathroom and tie him up with the string. Now just
walk up to the other guard when he isn't looking to knock him out. Tie him up
as well and get on the elevator. Take it upstairs to the second floor. Enter
the door in the top right here and you'll enter a long dialogue with some
scientists. When you shoot one of them, heal him with a first aid kit. If you
don't have one, there's one in the crate to the left. After you regain control
of Jesse Fox, enter the bathroom to the left to save your progress. Exit the
bathroom and go to the left. The scientist here will warn you about mechanical
spiders.
Destroying
all 9 of these mecha spiders in the chapter will unlock the Mecha-Rachnophobia
achievement.
You'll find
the first mecha spider in the next room. Toss an electromagnetic grenade at it
and quickly rush up to it to punch it until it explodes. Exit this room to the
north. There's one mecha spider here as well. Attack it when it's safe.
Remember to break the boxes in this room for some more electromagnetic grenades
and proceed to the left. This room will also have one mecha spider. Break the
boxes for some more electromagnetic grenades and a first aid kit. The room to
the south is a bit tricky, there will be two spiders. Wait for one to be near
the northern side of the room with the other further away. Stun it over the
computers to take it out quickly then backtrack to the start of the room. Take
out the other spider when it's safe.
Head to the
right when it's safe and punch the right most locker for an anti rad suit. This
will come in handy later on! Let's backtrack to the scientists from here. Save
in the bathroom near the first scientist and head to the east. You'll see a
door with red windows around it. You need to equip your anti rad suit in here
or you'll slowly die. There are more mecha spiders in here. You could just wait
for them to turn the corner so you can sneak by but if you want the
Mecha-Rachnophobia achievement, we'll need to take the suit off to attack.
You'll need to take it off to toss a grenade and punch. You should put your
suit back on in between the grenade toss and the punches. Exit this room to the
north when ready. This path is really straightforward and there is only one
spider in each room. These are the remaining spiders so you'll unlock the
achievement if you kill all 4 in this section. Go through the door in the
fourth room here to exit the radioactive section.
The next
room will have cameras. The right camera will turn while the left camera will
stay still. Watch the right camera and get used to the timing. Shortly after it
turns to the left, toss an electromagnetic grenade at the left camera. Run past
it and you should be getting close to the right camera as it's starting to turn
away. Exit this room to the south. Toss an electromagnetic grenade at the next
camera and sneak past it to the next room.
Once you
enter the next room, head to the north of the servers here and go to the right.
There's a hidden crate here we can break for 3 electromagnetic grenades. Now
return to the left room. Toss an electromagnetic grenade at the first camera
and run past it. Hug the wall to sneak under the next camera. move into the small
alcove in the top left corner to toss an electromagnetic grenade at this
camera. Quickly run down and break the crate blocking your path to go through
the door down here. We'll see a single guard here. Knock him out with
chloroform and we can search his body for a coin. Exit to the left.
This long
hallway will have two guards patrolling. Wait at the bottom right corner
against the wall for the first guard to approach and take him out. Bring his
body to the previous room and search it for 4 bullets. The other guard will
only go to the middle of the room before turning back. Wait at the corner for
him to turn around and then quickly chase him to knock him out. Search him for
3 more bullets. With the guards knocked out, there are two doors to take care
of. You can enter the left door. Break the crates in here for a level 4 access
card. While we're in this room, break the right file cabinet for the KGS-185/U
Protocol instructions. We'll need this for later.
Return to
the hallway outside this office and go through the door to the right. Break the
file cabinet to the right for the fifth set of files. Head back into the
hallway and go to the left. There's a single guard here. Toss a coin to
distract him and quickly knock him out. There are two doors here, take the door
on the left first. Before you step in, equip your sunglasses before you move in
here. The guards will toss a coin that you will automatically be lured towards
otherwise. The sunglasses will prevent you from running to it. If you do get
lured to it, you'll have to fight all three guards. Grab the photographs on the
desk here.
Grabbing
these photographs will unlock the Look At This Photograph achievement.
Now let's
go through the other door in the hallways to return to the elevator. We can go
back into the lab north of here just to save but head back to the elevator when
ready. Before we go to the roof, go back down to the first floor. Run right
twice and enter the door here now that we have the level 4 access card. Break
the crate in this room for some night goggles. Backtrack back to the elevator
from here and take it up to the rooftop.
These
guards are weaker but have a much wider field of vision. You have to get behind
them. The left guard will patrol back and forth. Wait for him to return to the
top left corner and toss a coin from the left side of the hallway to alert the
bottom right guard. Quickly move to the right of the elevator door into the
small alcove so he doesn't spot you. As he picks up the coin, run behind him to
knock him out. Search him for another coin and carry him back towards the
elevator. Now just wait for the other guard to turn around and follow him to
knock him out. We can go in two different directions here. Let's first go to
the right.
Step out of
the corner so the first guard spots you and immediately run back to the
previous room. Don't worry, he won't raise the alarm, he'll just come to check
out what he saw. Use your binoculars to check when he turns around. When he
does, quickly go after him and knock him out. Now just knock out the other
guard down below when he turns to the corner. You can enter this room for a
first aid kit and to fill up on bullets by punching the cabinet. Head back to
the elevator and walk to the left edge of the screen.
Use your
binoculars to inspect this room. It may take a bit of patience since the patrol
movements seem to be random with the middle guard. When they both turn their
backs, enter and quickly knock out the guard walking towards the bathroom. Hide
his body in the bathroom and save your progress. Wait by the bathroom for the
other patrolling guard to walk to the left and follow him to knock him out. We
can now just walk up to the final guard in this room and knock him out as well.
Walk to the southern exit of this room first but don't enter it. Use your
binoculars to see when the patrolling guard starts walking south. Quickly
follow him and knock him out.
Hug the far
southern wall here. Toss a coin to alert the guard here and quickly run back to
the right to hide behind the barrels. When the guard picks up the coin, quickly
run up behind him to knock him out. Make sure to inspect his body to get your
coin back. Now walk up to the left edge of this screen and use the binoculars.
When this guard turns his back to you, quickly enter and take him out. Now
there's only one guard remaining here. Take him out as he walks away. There's a
single guard to the north if you're really close to leveling and want the XP
but if you don't need it, just head south. Save at the bathroom here then head
south for a boss battle.
Defeat
Takuma Takagashi without letting him heal to unlock the Dance of the Blade and
Gun achievement.
Takuma
Takagashi may seem dangerous at first but he's not much of a challenge. He
likes to run in diagonal lines and has three attacks:
·
Fan
Throw - He'll stop to throw three fans in straight lines towards you. They move
slowly so they're easy to dodge or you can even roll under them.
·
Katana
Slash - When he gets close, he'll slash with his katana.
·
Katana
Charge - When you hit him, he'll charge with his katana.
This fight
is all about being on the offensive. Equip your gun and first aid kits. Just
line up a shot and keep firing. Let him charge right through you to land as
many shots as you can. When he does, roll away so he doesn't hit you with a
secondary slash. When he's low on health, he may heal himself. When you're low,
make sure to heal. If you just focus on landing as many shots with your gun as
possible, you should only have to heal once throughout the fight. If you don't
have any first aid kits, this will be a lot tougher. Take one shot at a time
and quickly roll away to avoid his charge until you kill him.
With the
boss defeated, head south and talk to the engineer Mike. There's nothing else
we can do here right now. We need to return to the elevator and go up one more
floor to the roof. We'll have a hilarious cutscene where we pretend to be a
building inspector until we scare off the guards.
Simply walk
up to the antenna to the left to try to disable it. We'll need to find the
KGS-185/U Protocol instructions. If you haven't been following this guide to
this point, it'll be on the second floor in the file cabinet of the room where
we got the level 4 access card. In addition to these instructions, we'll need
to collect a few things from the roof. First, attack the top right air
conditioning unit here for some wire. Now head south. Attack all the pipes
being covered by blue tarps. Each one will drop two clamps each for a total of
six.
Roll under
the water tower here and break the air conditioning unit to reveal a hidden
hatch. This will lead to the engineer Mike down below. Break the crate here for
a grenade slot upgrade. You can also punch the crate to the right for a
shortcut to the rest of this room.
Now head to
the left. Break the damage section of the vent here. We can now access the left
most air conditioner unit here. Break it for some more wire. Continue to the
upper left from here until you see the helicopter. Break the right most air
conditioner unit for the last piece of wire we need. Now we can return to the
communications tower by the elevator. Combine the wires with clamps and use the
new wire with clamps item on the wires at the base of the communications tower.
Follow the instructions below:
·
Connect
the Red Wire with the White Wire
·
Connect
the Black Wire with the Green Wire
·
Connect
the Yellow Wire with the Blue Wire
Now use
your bolt cutters and follow the instructions below:
·
Cut
the Blue Wire
·
Cut
the Red Wire
·
Cut
the Black Wire
Now we need
to return to the helicopter. Head south then west, west, and north. We'll
realize we still need the key!
We need to
return to the engineer Mike a level below us. We can go through the secret by
rolling under the water tower for a shortcut or just take the elevator down and
run there. Remember, he's in the room south of where you fought Takuma
Takagashi. He'll give you a map and send you through the basement labyrinth.
Return to
the elevator and take it all the way down to the basement. We'll meet a cloaked
man here. He'll open the door up for you. We'll need the night vision goggles
to see down here. If you don't have them yet, they're on the first floor in the
top left door of the room two rooms east of the elevator.
If you get
all the way through the labyrinth without breaking a single cell door, you'll
unlock the Do Not Disturb achievement.
The final
secret of the game is in the first prison cell door to the left at the start of
the basement labyrinth. There's an achievement for finishing the labyrinth
without breaking any doors so if you want to go for it, you should skip this
secret.
Note - If
you die at any point in the labyrinth, which you will die if you take the wrong
direction even once, you'll reset to the start of the labyrinth. A safe way to
remember where you are is to write the directions down on a piece of paper and
cross them out at every intersection because the game won't keep track of it
for you.
We'll have
to pay attention to the map Mike gave you. The map is shown above and you
should check it at every intersection. The game will only track for the first
two intersections. Furthermore, the direction is the direction we have to take
at each intersection, not where we have to exit the screen. You'll learn this
quickly as the second room will say east but there is no east exit. Soon we
will reach a ghost, we have to shoot it two times with your gun to kill it
before it rushes at you. If it touches you, you will quickly lose health until
you die. The only way to get it off you is to leave the screen. Find the
closest safe exit to get rid of any ghosts on you before you die! You have to
go left towards the ghost after you kill it. At the next intersection, go west
again. Kill the two ghosts beyond the next intersection and go north when you
can. Once you turn north, kill the single ghost north of you. This room is just
a long straight shot with a ghost in the way. Kill it and follow the path to
the next room.
You can run
past this next ghost as you continue to the north to the next room. The path
will split early in this room. Go north when you reach it while taking the two
ghosts out in the room. You can simply outrun the next two ghosts by just
running straight north to the next screen. Roll near the top to get out of the
room slightly faster to make sure they don't grab you. The next room will have
two ghosts. Kill them and head to the right at the intersection. Don't leave
the room on the right side, head south at the next intersection to exit the
room south. There's a ghost that will enter your line of sight ahead. Hug the
eastern wall and wait for it to walk out to kill it. Head south until you reach
the split and exit this room to the right.
The next
room will immediately split in an intersection, take the southern path. Kill
the ghost ahead and exit the room on the eastern side ahead. Again, this next
room will have an intersection almost immediately and a ghost at the far end of
the hallway. You won't be able to outrun this ghost so kill it from the
starting point. Head south the first chance you get here. Kill the ghost at the
end of this path and go north to exit in the northeast corner. This next room
will have two intersections. Just go straight north through both of them while
killing the ghost ahead. Go north through the next empty room and you'll exit
this one on the eastern side. This next room will have two ghosts in the
distance, kill them both and go south until you're forced to exit in the
northeast corner.
This next
room will have three intersections, head north, then west, then west again to
exit as shown in the arrow above. This one can be tricky since it's the first
room with three intersections that we've had to pass so don't get them mixed
up! Kill the two ghosts ahead and go through the northern door when you reach
it. Now go east to kill the next ghost. From here. We just have to go north at
the next split. There's a ghost that will charge you so make sure to kill him
as you enter. If you don't, just exit the room and reenter it. You'll see the
brick wall is different here.
Just run up
to that brick wall and we'll enter a hidden entrance to complete this chapter,
moving on to Escape Complete!
Enter the
first door to the left and break the boxes for a C1. Now we need to head to the
north. Enter the top left door here and break the boxes for another C1. Leave
the room after you get it and immediately go west. We'll find the door with the
red X on it! It's actually a trap and after some humorous cutscenes, we'll get
a game over. The dialogue is worth the game over screen though! When you're
ready to proceed, enter the northern door in this room for two more C1s. We
need to combine all of them to make a C4! That's not all we need to do though!
Combine the C4 with the wristwatch we got from early in the game.
Place the
C4 with the wristwatch attached to it to the gas tank in the top left corner of
the room with the door marked with an X. Now we can enter that door. Any
dialogue option you choose is the correct one and the C4 will blow up, knocking
out all the guards! Pick up Colonel Harris' body and carry it out of the room.
As you
carry Colonel Harris to the elevator, you'll raise an alert from guards in the
next room. Run up the hallway and drop his body here. Wait for them to rush you
and just punch them all to knock them out as they come inspecting this area.
Carry him in to the next room. Bring him to the middle for another alarm. This
time, four guards will run in from the northern exit of the room. Drop the
Colonel and run right up to the corner where they have to turn. Just keep
punching when they get close and you'll knock out all 4 guards before they even
attack you! Pick the Colonel back up and carry him onto the elevator to the
north.
We'll now
be in General X's office. There's an armory through the door to the right.
Break all the boxes in here to fill up on ammo for your gun, grenades,
electromagnetic grenades, and rockets. The other door leads to a bathroom where
you can save. If you broke all the stall doors, this is the last one for the
Achievements#Knock Knock achievement. Isn't it obvious what's coming up next
after filling up your ammo and saving? That's right! The final boss! Leave go
up the elevator again to fight General X!
The second
phase of the General X battle will be a tank. Destroy it without using any electromagnetic
grenades to unlock the You Gotta Become War achievement!
General X
will have 3 phases. Fortunately with all the ammo we got from the armory, it
isn't too challenging once you know what to do.
The first
phase will be sending in three sets of drones. Just shoot them all with a
single bullet to destroy them one at a time. You need to be quick here because
they keep coming and it can get very overwhelming if you let a lot of them stay
alive!
The second
phase will be a tank. It has two rockets it can shoot out of its front and a
machine gun that will fire a burst of bullets in your direction. Run away from
the machine gun and roll away from the rockets. You can use grenades very
easily against this tank. Just tossing grenades will make quick work of the
tank and you'll also get the You Gotta Become War achievement for your
troubles!
The third
phase can be challenging. The boss will turn invisible. You'll see him fire
shots from a random location. You have to throw an electromagnetic grenade at
him to make him visible and quickly switch to your gun. You should be able to
hit him with 3 shots before he disappears again. General X will also steal all
of your first aid kits to heal himself every time you hit him! The fastest way
to get through this is to willingly get hit and heal yourself until you're out
of first aid kits. You'll enter some dialogue where he stabs you with your
rusty wire so you'll slowly bleed to death too! Now the clock is on! Fight the
rest of the fight as quickly as you can before you bleed out. He can hit you
with his bullets just by pure luck if he spawns near you but his bullets don't
deal much damage. Just make sure to stun him and shoot him three times every
time he appears whenever he starts shooting until you defeat him.
That's the
game! You'll regain control to "convince" Colonel Harris to listen to
you during the ending cutscene, all you have to do is punch him. Now enjoy the
rest of the cutscenes as you watch the credits roll!
