Genshin Impact Spiral Octopuses

In Genshin Impact, Spiral Octopuses are an important part of the underwater world and various puzzles located in the Sea of Antiquities, which is located under Petricor Island in the Nostoi (Fontaine) area. These cute creatures love to sing around the Sweet-sounding Flowers and often offer you to play or do various interactive activities. By interacting with them, you can get valuable trophies and access to hydrocules.

In this guide we will explain where all the octopuses are and how to interact with them to get rewards in the form of rich, precious or luxury chests.

What to do with Spiral Octopuses?

Three varieties of Spiral Octopuses can be found in the territory of ancient Remuria: the regular ones, which attack, and two others, blue and orange. The latter two categories don't mind interacting with the Traveler:

• Blue octopuses often require an incentive to act, such as the command It's time to perform! They may also find themselves trapped, surrounded by aggressive animals, or offer to play together.
  
• Orange octopuses prefer to circle around sea cucumbers and respond to the strength of the symphony (on the PCs, change to T and then the E key). A short press stops them, and a long press gets them moving.

If an octopus is trapped in a blue trap surrounded by sea creatures, you will have to destroy the entire crowd of underwater enemies to free it.

Sea of Ancient Remuria - Spiral Octopuses

The Sea of Ancient Remuria is home to 18 Spiral Octopuses, of which 7 are located on the left and 11 on the right. Next, we will look at how to find each of them and get the corresponding rewards.

Octopuses #1 and #2

Location: Left half of the Sea of Antiquity, north of Janus' Gate.

Description: One octopus is looking at a shell, while the other is surrounded by aggressive animals.

Interaction: The octopuses are part of a complete puzzle. See the supplementary guide to solve the puzzle.

Reward: Two rich and one luxurious chest.

Octopus #3

Location: On the coral, southeast of the previous location, near an underwater rock.

Description: The octopus is surrounded by animals on the coral.

Interaction: Disperse the animals to free the octopus. After that, order him Time to perform! and watch as he swims up to the anemone and unlocks the reward.

Reward: Rich Chest.

Octopuses #4, #5, #6

Upon reaching the hill below the Port of Anticus (the closest teleporter north of Janus Gate), you will find a locked precious chest surrounded by sea cucumbers. To activate the chest, you need to create a resonance with the octopuses you are about to find. Swim up to the echolusk and activate the shell to discover all the hidden spots in the area. The octopuses are in those shells indicated in the first screenshot above. You need to find all the hidden creatures and order them Time to perform! Note that one of the octopuses lurking in the crevice west of the chest will encounter aggressive animals along the way - deal with them. The discovered octopuses will swim to the sea cucumbers themselves and start singing. The reward will unlock instantly after activating the resonance.

Octopus #7

To rescue the seventh octopus, head to the southernmost teleporter and turn the camera backwards, then swim to the area to the left of the move point. In this area, you'll find a trap with a chest, with a destructible cobblestone nearby and some puzzled clams. Take the power of the xenochrome crab nearby and smash the rubble. Then order the rescued clam to go ...perform! after the other two.

Octopus #8

On the right half of the Sea of Antiquity, you will encounter the remaining clams. One of them will offer to play Sea of Waves once against the Sweet-sounding Flower, which grows in the underwater glade in the northern part of the map.

Octopuses #9, #10, #11

Octopuses numbered 9-11 are encountered in the area of the riddle with the mechanical oodles that guard the bounty barrier above the Court of Harmony.

Octopus #12

You can find the twelfth octopus northwest of the previous location. Get the rich chest.

Octopus #13, #14, #15

Get 2 rich chests, 1 luxury chest.

The three blue octopuses will meet you on Capitol Hill, which is south of the castle. Here you will encounter the puzzle stages associated with the three Sweet-Sounding Colors.

Octopuses #16, #17, #18

The last three orange clams can be found behind the northern half of the Capitol, on the left side of the teleporter at the entrance to the Golden Castle.
