Shadow Fight 3: guide for beginners

Shadow Fight 3 is the third installment in the Nekki series of the same name, the popular fighting game for gamers on both iOS and Android platforms. Much has changed compared to the second part, but the theme remains the same - the setting of the game is set in feudal era Japan, and you play the role of a hero whose fate is still undetermined. You can customize your character's equipment, learn new moves and techniques, and take part in various game modes. In addition, what Nekki calls "three unique fighting styles" have appeared.

It should be noted that when Nekki described the game on her PlayMarket page as "deep and addictive", she wasn't lying. On the one hand, this is a fighting game that can hook you up from the first minute and keep you on your toes, and on the other hand, Shadow Fight 3 is a game that has a lot of things that you can learn, including old ones and completely new ones, unknown even for fans of previous parts of Shadow Fight game mechanics.

Our first guide is aimed mostly at new players, but can also be useful for gamers with intermediate knowledge of the series who have fought in previous installments and tried to defeat or even defeated some of the bosses in the latest installment.

This is not a game for randomly pressing buttons (tap on er??wound)

Despite the seemingly simple learning system, especially when they teach you how to attack properly, in Shadow Fight 3 you should not be mistaken and try to press the attack buttons in a random sequence. Don't count on getting good results if you don't know the right combos and moves. During the attack, you need to choose the right time. Even on easy difficulty, this strategy will not lead to anything good. All this was true for the previous part of the fighting game.

Mix different movements

In addition to the previous advice, I must add that you should try to create varieties of your moves and strikes. In early versions of Shadow Fight 3, defeating the AI was fairly easy, as all you had to do was press the punch button while moving backwards. This technique made it possible to defeat opponents in any battle.

But due to the latest updates, the developers have added a more subtle approach to things to the game. By sticking to the same actions as before, you will certainly win the battle. On the other hand, if you act unpredictably (even if playing against AI), you will be able to win fights on the hard difficulty (Hard), so make sure your movements are maxed out.but varied. Try alternating between the punch and kick buttons, or try different types of punches with one weapon or the other.

Keep in mind the counterattack

Refuting the well-known saying, I declare to you that in Shadow Fight 3 the best attack is a good defense! Blocking an opponent's moves is very easy, as is standing still (you can actually stand still and your character will block all incoming hits except for a grapple followed by a throw), but if you move forward or backward you become vulnerable to enemy hits. You also have to deal with counterattacks. Take your chance when your opponent misses and hit him back while he's about to strike again. Often with such actions, you will be able to mow down a decent amount of HP of the enemy, or at least ruin / stop the combo that the enemy was trying to do.

How does shadow energy work?

Unlike previous parts in Shadow Fight 3, you can now see your character in the raft, and not just his shadow. And instead of forcing you to perform various combos to fill up a rage bar that makes your attacks stronger, shadow energy has now appeared in the game. Let's see how it works and what are its advantages.

If you notice a blue button next to the punch button, then know that when you press it, shadow energy will be activated. This will turn your fighter into a shadow for a few seconds and will be able to use your special skills, while your normal attacks will deal even more damage. Shadow energy can be activated after you fill up the blue bar under your health bar. As a rule, you will be able to do this faster if you use the variety in movements, as described earlier. Once you activate shadow energy, you can press the iridescent blue movement stick arrows (in the lower left corner) and the shadow energy button at the same time to trigger these movements and deal additional damage to the enemy.

However, when it comes to shadow energy, there are a few undisclosed facts that you must keep in mind. First, being in shadow mode does not make you invisible, much less invincible. Your opponent can still see your character and deal damage - being in shadow form just allows you to use certain skills and makes normal attacks more powerful. Secondly, in shadow mode, it is best to activate all your special skills, but do this when you are on a safe p?? distance from the enemy. If you launch them too close to the enemy, then your opponent will be able to block the moves using his own move faster.

Thirdly, there are some skills that allow you to extend the duration of shadow mode. They usually activate after you miss a headshot. Yes, you will take damage, but at the same time, extend the duration of shadow mode. It's worth it!

If you don't finish the fight before the time runs out, you will lose

As in the previous part of the game, in Shadow Fight 3 victory in most fights is achieved by winning two of the three possible rounds. This works against almost most opponents! But in a fight against bosses, victory can only be given after winning three rounds. There are several nuances. You must win the round before the time runs out - 99 seconds. If you do not manage to win the battle within the allotted time, you will automatically lose. It does not matter if you have more health than the AI opponent - this will not allow them to defeat. The round will be counted against you, the opponent will be credited with a victory.

It's not the most enjoyable of game mechanics, but it's one of the ways Nekki makes the Shadow Fight series so difficult.

The only thing??, which you can tighten - duel

Speaking of changes, it's important to emphasize that Shadow Fight 3 differs from Shadow Fight 2 if only in that you can't replay campaign levels that have been completed before. Instead of a survival mode, to which the reaction from the gaming community was mixed, side quests appeared in the game. And they are strictly forbidden to ignore! You will not be able to skip them, but, on the other hand, no one will allow you to replay them again, right away. You can complete a certain number of quests every few hours or so.

So, how can you develop if you need these notorious 1000 coins to purchase the simplest package with cards? As far as I could figure out, the main free way to improve and develop your character is to participate in duels that offer you to fight against other gamers just like you. You can continue to fight duels for as long as you want and win chests. Chests are the main reward in all duels. There are four chest slots on the main screen, so you can only collect a maximum of four (all other won chests will not be saved).

But besides the chests, dueling will allow you to earn some coins if you eventually win inthem victory. However, note that Nekki seems to have changed the matchmaking system in the latest update (at least that's the message I got when I logged in). After some digging, I found the following information. Now, in most cases, you will face a character with more power, so be careful - losing will cost you rating points, going to increase / decrease the dan (rank) and determine the "league" in which you play. The higher the league your character is in, the more valuable items you can get for winning battles.

Unfortunately, you do not get experience points for winning duels. The same goes for completing side quests! The only way to earn experience is to defeat AI opponents in the story campaign mode. But most of these story battles will be difficult, so you will have to level your character through duels first to strengthen it and at the same time reduce the difficulty of the battles in the story.

How do side quests work?

Side quests, as mentioned earlier, are best not to be ignored. Although their completion is not essential and essential for the storyline, completing these tasks is a good way to earn additional coins and / or gems (k??asny rubies). The latter, by the way, are premium currencies, mainly purchased for real money.

The term "side quest" does not mean that you can easily defeat your opponents. In most cases, side quests will be associated with certain challenges, forcing you to control a different character or use a completely different weapon than the one you were used to before. It is possible that in battle you will also be limited in some way - for example, after a hit, the enemy will be able to restore HP, or poison your hero (when poisoning, health points are gradually taken away from the character), or light will begin to disappear in the arena altogether (when this your opponent will see from something where and how to attack).

There are other conditions - fighting without weapons or limiting the available attacks (for example, fighting only with legs). These fights can be quite difficult if you are not prepared for them. For this reason, you should not treat side quests as something simple, easy to pass and optional.
