HBO has released the official trailer for the Perry Mason mini-series based on the detective books by Earl Gardner. The role of the main character, lawyer Perry Mason, is given to actor Matthew Reese, while Robert Downey Jr. became an executive producer.
The events unfold in Los Angeles in 1932: while the country is struggling with the consequences of the Great Depression, this city has almost everything - from oil to the Olympic Games and other entertainment. But this whole idyll is destroyed when children begin to disappear in the City of Angels.
The mini-series will also feature several other notable actors: John Lithgow, Chris Chalk, Robert Patrick and Tatiana Maslany. Directed by Tim Van Patten, who directed The Wire.
The release of "Perry Mason", which includes 8 episodes, is scheduled for June 21.
