Have questions about Loop Hero? That way!

We answer the most popular questions about the looping roguelike Loop Hero from Devolver Digital

How to mine crushed stone, brushwood, wood, stone, rations and food supplies

In Loop Hero, a cyclic roguelike with strategy elements, you need to gradually improve your character and rebuild the camp, for which many buildings have been developed. This will require a lot of resources.

At the beginning of the game, you will need three main resources - stable brushwood, surviving rubble and rations. In the future, each resource will be used to create composite materials that will be useful for construction. For example, 12 units of brushwood can create stable wood, and 10 rubble can create a surviving stone, and 12 units of rations can create a food supply.

If you need brushwood, build as many groves as possible in a cycle on Wasteland. Meadows are needed for rations, and rubble should be found in cemeteries or by creating Mountains and Rocks.

Best Early Game Strategy : Build the Treasury and then surround it with meadows. If you do this and completely surround the treasury, you will receive an incredible amount of rations. By analogy with this, build mountains close to each other and so on. That is, the meaning is simple - you need to build the sametiles next to each other.

Where to find scrap metal and permanent metal

It is not easy to find scrap metal, but from 13 units of such a resource you can create permanent metal, which is extremely important for the first improvements of buildings and the expansion of the camp. The most reliable way to get scrap metal at the beginning of the game is to build the Treasury. By itself, it is of no use. But if you place fields and mountains around it, you will gradually be able to open the items hidden inside. And scrap metal is a resource that constantly falls out of there.

Another way to get scrap metal is to accumulate items, fill your inventory, after which each new item will replace the old one, and the old one will turn into scrap metal. Make sure to build the treasury in such a way that there are 8 empty cells around, not bordering the edge of the screen or the Wasteland that the hero is moving along.

How to upgrade buildings

Immediately after the first phase, you will be introduced to how to create your buildings and other structures. A menu with different buildings will be available to you, but there will be no guide on how to improve buildings.

Approach your building and click LMB. You will be given two options to choose from:

  • "Dismantle the building";

We take the necessary resources to improve the building and pump it. Of course, many more resources are used, but the effect of pumping is not small.

How to increase game speed

So how does your warrior travel in the game??am along a given trajectory at a certain speed, some users would like to increase or decrease its speed for timely decision making. This can be done quite simply. We have prepared a separate guide for changing the speed of the game in Loop Hero, but we will also give actionable advice in this guide.

To increase the speed of the game, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Steam client and select the " Properties " of the game;
  2. Select "Local Files" and click " Browse " on the right side of the window;
  3. In the explorer window that opens, find the variables.ini file and open it with notepad ;
  4. Find the line game_speed and change the value to a more appropriate one (default is 60 ) - 120 (speed up the game), below 60 (slow down the game).

How to restore health

To restore the health of your character, you need to find and put on the appropriate items that can regenerate health. Here is a complete list of mechanics that can restore health:

  • Use rings , shields , and armor that are marked "Regeneration";
  • Health will regenerate every timeafter visiting your camp ( a small fire on the map, where you can escape from the battlefield );
  • In the upper left part of the screen you will see the day scale , upon completion of which your hero will receive additional health;
  • Do not forget about lifesteal , as this indicator in most cases will restore part of your health after the damage inflicted on enemies.

There is no other way to restore the hero's vitality yet. If we find out more information about health regeneration in this game, we will definitely update the article!

How to throw away things and get rid of unnecessary items

During an expedition, you cannot discard found items. All items are removed from your inventory automatically. In order not to accumulate junk in your backpack, you should replace items of the same characteristics in the hands of the main character, since the previous elements of armor or weapons will automatically disappear.

How it works: you found a sword with 8-11 damage, then an ax with exactly the same damage. In order not to litter your inventory, place the ax in the main character's hand to make the sword disappear. Do this with all the items you find and there will always be enough space in your inventory for new items.

If you have equipped the best armor and weapons, then just ignore the junk in your backpack. When you find new items, the last items in your inventory will disappear automatically!

How to get a noticeable change

This is a secondary resource that you can collect when installing various cards. To get a "noticeable change", place the following cards side by side:

  • Meadow next to the treasury ;
  • Meadow next to the lighthouse ;
  • Meadow next to a mountain or rock .

How to use the potion / How to drink the potion

First build the herbalist's hut. You will have 3 potions available per turn. The hero will use them AUTOMATICALLY as his health decreases. He uses the first potion as early as possible, the next one a little later, and the last one closer to the moment of death. The supply of potions is updated when you pass through the campfire tile.
