Microsoft Flight Simulator Newbie Guide

With Microsoft Flight Simulator, you can explore virtually every inch of the Earth from a bird's eye view.

If you're new to the flight sim genre and want to take off and see the sights, it might not be that easy. You need to master a few basics.

Get trained

No wonder Microsoft Flight Simulator is a realistic flight simulator. Unlike arcade flying games, there is a lot you need to know before you can take off properly.

Although this training mode is boring, it is necessary. Flight training covers just about every concept you need to know and is designed to get you up in the air as quickly as possible. At the same time, some of the controls may be confusing, especially if you're playing Microsoft Flight Simulator with a controller.

Completion of flight training takes approximately 30-40 minutes, after which you will be able to fly around the world on your own.

What planes to use

In flight training, you will use the Cessna 152 exclusively. This model has a cruising speed of 107 knots. How are you?Or from the tutorials, this speed range is good enough for small terrain.

screw

Propeller-driven aircraft such as the Cessna 152 are great for low and relatively slow flights. If you are planning to explore densely populated areas such as cities or are trying to find your home, choose a propeller-driven aircraft with a cruising speed of less than 150 knots.

Turboprop

Turboprop aircraft are similar to propeller-driven aircraft, but they are twice as fast and have twice the maximum height. They are well suited when you travel over large areas of land such as mountains, forests or lakes.

Airliners and Jets

Suitable for long distance travel. The speed of such aircraft is 4 times greater than the one on which you were trained, and they climb well. Some airliners have much more fuel.

How to go free flying

One of the most exciting aspects of Microsoft Flight Simulator is the ability to fly anywhere in the world. See the most beautiful sights in the world from a bird's eye view.

If you want tovisit famous places or wonders of nature, then look for them in the World Map / Free Flight mode.

If your destination is a famous landmark, you can easily find it using the search function on the map screen in free flight mode. Once you find your location, the map will enlarge so you can enter it as your departure or destination. We recommend that you enter attractions as your arrival points and find a suitable departure airport.

How to use active pause

Active pause is a feature you may have seen recommended on the loading screen, but it's not tied to any key, so you might not know how to use it.

Active pause allows you to stop the movement of your aircraft and look around. Entering the regular pause menu by pressing the Escape key on the keyboard or pausing on the controller shows your options while hiding everything else. However, if you want to stop the action and look around, you need to bind the Active Pause function to a key. Keysand Control is at the bottom of the keyboard. It will be convenient to use.
