Warframe mod guide: prime mods and other varieties

Mods in Warframe are what basically determine your power level, no matter what weapons and robots you wield. They amplify pure damage and generally improve everything you do.

Even if you bring your character to the maximum level, he will not reach the power limit until you install the appropriate mods.

Modifier Rarity

There are five main types of modifier rarity in Warframe:

• Ordinary
• Unusual
• Rare
• Legendary (Prime modifiers)
• Rift Mods

They follow the usual color schemes of bronze, silver and gold. Meanwhile, Legendary mods are platinum colors and Riven mods are purple.

The last two types - Legendary and Riven Mods - cannot be dropped from normal opponents. These are special items that you can either buy or get for completing certain missions.

Regular mods

Mods are presented in the form of "cards". You get mods for your warframes, weapons, companions, hoverboard, wings and so on. Each mod improves a certain parameter (sometimes several). Some increase your damage, others increase shields and/or health.

Normal mods are dropped by enemies or given as quest rewards. Normal enemies and bosses drop randomly. Mods can also be obtained after completing some missions, including survival, excavation and interception.

auras

Auras are modifiers that affect both you and your entire squad at the same time. a special slot on warframes is used for them, into which no other "card" can be inserted. When using these mods, polarity is also important: with symbol synergy, you will increase the effect, with conflict, reduce it by 2 times.

The most common way to get an Aura is to pass Alerts (Alarm). Are they limited time missions that usually last 30-60 minutes and appear periodically on your stars??oops map.

Go to Twitter and follow @WarframeAlerts. Thanks to this, you will receive timely notifications about the start of Alerts in Warframe. Notifications will contain information about the rewards received and how much time is given to complete.

Also, unlike regular mods, Aura effects stack (when multiple players on a team use the same). Thus, a team of four players equipped with an Energy Source will regenerate more energy per second than in the case when the Aura is installed on one player.

Racks

Stances are mods that are somewhat similar to Auras. They can only be used in a certain slot and only in conjunction with melee weapons. They also increase weapon modification, which, again, doubles when the polarities match.

Racks add valuable melee combos to weapons. But, unlike the Aura, they do not affect the entire team. And note that they are only available when melee weapons?? used instead of a pistol: fast hand-to-hand combat doesn't count.

Exilus

Exilus Mods, again, are very similar to Aura Mods. They usually provide small useful bonuses - for example, the ability to see loot on the minimap. Exilus mods must also be installed in the special Exilus Mod slot, which only appears on Warframes, not on weapons.

To unlock the slot, you must use a special item called the Exilus Adapter. This is a rare reward from Sorties (daily missions at the end of the game), Teshin (PVP supplier) and Cephalon Simaris (special vendor at relay stations that gives you hunting rewards). You also get Exilus adapters from certain quests.

drift mods

Technically, it's just an offshoot of the Exiluses. They fit in the same Warframe slot and offer minor upgrades. These mods are usually more powerful than standard Exiluses and provide a boost to two stats.

Apart from trading, can you get them on Moon Oh?okin. The location will open after completing the "Second Dream" mission. After completing the mission on the moon, you will receive the corresponding hybrid mod.

Hybrid mods

By unlocking all the missions on the Moon, you will unlock Nightmare Mode missions. By completing these limited-time missions, you will receive mods that give a boost to two different parameters.

For example, the Bioenergy mod increases both health and shields. And you can further buff health and shields with other mods that provide similar bonuses.

Hybrid mods are usually incredibly powerful. Though quests in Nightmare mode usually have hard modifiers applied to them (such as lack of shields). Try to choose the right Warframe for each mission!

Damaged mods

Damaged modifiers affect two different stats, but they boost one and degrade the other. Effects can stack with normal mods. In general, try increasing something that suits your Warframe and its playstyle, and decreasing something that doesn't matter much.

Unfortunately, these mods are very difficult to obtain. You can drop them randomly in the Orokin Abandoned Territory. Modifiers storeHide in the hidden vaults of the Orokin, which require dragon keys to enter. There are four types of Dragon Keys, and each player can only equip one Dragon Key at a time. It turns out that you need a team of four characters. Everyone has a different Dragon Key.

It's tricky, so don't get too hung up on wanting corrupted mods early in the game.

Syndicate Mod

These modifiers enhance existing abilities by giving them additional effects or more power. For example, Rising Storm is Ash's mod that increases the combo counter to +4 Blade Storm ability. The Hydroid Mod, called Stealing Tentacles , grants additional loot from enemies caught in the Tentacle Swarm ability's tentacles.

Such mods can be obtained from syndicates, for reputation. Join them and increase the value. Or you can trade mods with other players. Each Syndicate supports certain Warframes, so unlocking them all is a challenge.

Least popular as they are only available in Conclave PvP mode.

Every few weeks, Baro Ki'Teer, a merchant from the Void, appears in the Solar System. It can be compared to Xur from Destiny 2. Although Baro comes much less often. However, it does have some great weapons and prime mods in its range. These legendary mods are improved versions of regular mods.

Rift Mods

Each Rift mod can change up to four random attributes - both positively and negatively. But in general, the stronger the negative effect, the more powerful and positive it will be. But specific effects are random.

Rifts are a potential reward for completing Daily Deals . You will also receive one such modifier for completing the War Within quest.

Each Rift mod is designed for a specific type of weapon. For example, you cannot use Aklex Riven onArca Plasmor. The rarer a Warframe's weapon, the more powerful the effects of the Rift mod intended for it can be.

Unfortunately, initially you do not know anything about the effects of the Rift mod. Only what category of weapons it is intended for: rifle, hand-to-hand combat, pistol, shotgun, etc. To unlock the effects, you need to complete a special task indicated in the mod description.

Complete mods

Pretty unique. The more modifiers from the same set, the more powerful the effect. Each set can have up to 6 modifiers. For example, one of the kits is designed to increase the capacity of the shield, but the specific effect depends on its rank. But by installing only one such mod, the increase will be only 40%. But if you collect a complete set, the effect will increase to 240%.

Complete mods can drop randomly or be given out as a reward on Earth and Venus (Cetus and Fortune, respectively). You will also receive several sets from the Sacrifice quest.
