Where to Find All Legendary Animals in Red Dead Redemption 2

There are 16 legendary animals scattered around the world in Red Dead Redemption 2...

Tracking, hunting and skinning them is more than just proof of your hunting prowess. You will receive new fashion items and some valuable Trinkets once you take their remains to the Fence.

Tips for successful hunting:

  • Use Dead Eye. Once you reach Dead Eye level 4, Dead Eye will highlight the weak points of animals - usually the head, heart, and lungs. Thanks to this, you will need fewer shots to kill.
  • Lost parts are automatically sent to the Buyer. Any part of the Legendary Animal that you can't pick up because you don't have enough space (upgrade your bags) or lose it will be sent to the Buyer automatically.
  • Use the Rolling Block Rifle. If you have completed the "Let the Oil Spill" tasks in chapter 2, take the rolling block rifle from the gunsmith. This is a sniper rifle that can kill most Legendary Animals with a single shot.
  • Use special ammo. The quality of the skins does not matter, it makes sense to use whatever ammo is most effective. We like Express ammo.

Legendary Animal Locations

Of the 16 legendary animals, you can easily get to 11 of them at the start of the game. Three more are in a hidden area of the map, another is related to the story mission in chapter 4, and the last one requires reaching the ninth rank of the Master Hunter challenge.

Legendary Animals in New Hanover

There are two Legendary Animals in New Hanover. We've included two maps below - one smaller and one larger - to help you find them.

  • Legendary beaver. You'll find the Legendary Beaver in a large beaver dam and camp out on the river west of Van Horn Trading Post and a little south of Elysian Pool. (This is a great place to hunt beaver in general.)
  • The Legendary Elk is located in the far northeast corner of the map on the west bank of the Roanoke Valley (and east of Nikola Tesla's Easter Egg in Doverhill).

Legendary animals in Ambarino

There are five legendary animals in Ambarino.

  • The legendary Bharati grizzly bear. This is the bear you hunt with Hosea during the mission "Leaves with a Bruised Ego" in Chapter 2. It is not necessary to kill him immediately after this mission, you can return to this hunt later. You will find the legendary Bharati grizzly bear northwest of O'Craig - southwest of Ambarino on your map.
  • The legendary white bison is located on the northern shore of Lake Isabella in the extreme west of Ambarino, slightly west of A on your map.
  • The legendary bighorn ram is found across the Dakota River west of Valentine.
  • The legendary wolf is next to the geyser near Cotorra Springs. You'll find it a little southwest of the Elk Reservation (or the R in Ambarino on your map), a little west of Bacchus Station, and a little northwest of Fort Wallace.
  • The Legendary Elk Deer is pretty close to the Legendary Wolf. You'll find it east of Fort Wallace and south of Bacchus Station.

Legendary animals inWest Elizabeth

At this location, you will find only one Legendary Animal.

  • The Legendary Deer is located in the far western edge of West Elizabeth, northwest of Strawberry in the western part of the Big Valley.

Legendary Animals in Lemoyne

At this location you will find five legendary animals.

  • The Legendary Coyote is located in the northern part of the Scarlett Meadows area in Lemoine. He lives north-northeast of the second camp and a little south of L in Lemoyne on your map.
  • The legendary fox is found in a small wetland area west of the Kamassa River near Mattock Pond north of Rhodes.
  • The Legendary Boar is located on the northern edge of the Bluewater Swamp, about halfway between Saint Denis and Van Horn Trading Post.
  • Legendary Alligator . You won't be able to hunt him until the "Search in the Outback" mission in Chapter 4. You'll find him northwest of Saint-Denis in the swamps south of Lagre.
  • Legendary Panther . This panther won't show up until you reach rank nine of the Master Hunter Challenge, and this is definitely one of the ??ore hunting in the list.

Look southeast of Rhodes, directly east of Braithwaite Manor, and south of Bolger Blade.

The maps above will show you where to go. When you get there, before you start looking for clues, we highly recommend saving the game. The legendary panther can sneak up and kill you. When you return to the game, you will receive a message telling you to wait for the animal.

You can either wait in the game (which can take a few days) or you can camp, sleep as long as you can, manually save the game, exit Red Dead Redemption 2 and reload.

It took us many attempts to kill the panther.

Tips on how to kill the legendary panther:

  • Follow the prompts. Unlike other Legendary Animals, the third and final key will not directly point you to the Legendary Panther. Instead, you need to go to the tree.
  • Use a good eye, along with chewing tobacco.
  • Follow the path according to the third clue while holding the gun up with L2/LT. (We used a shotgun, which killed the beast with two trigger pulls.)
  • Using Dead Eye, look for a small red dot on your radar. This is a panther. Head towards the animal.
  • Shoot pa??teru when she runs away.
