Unlike fishing with your father, fishing in Genshin Impact will bring you real rewards. For your efforts, you can earn achievements, name cards, and an extremely powerful polearm, the Catch.

How to fish in Genshin Impact?

Fishing in Genshin Impact is easy. Each region has specific spots where you can cast a line if you have a line. You can recognize a fishing spot by the ripples in the water. If you look closely at the ripples, you will see many fish swimming around. Approach the water, interact with the location to start fishing. This will start the fishing process. If you have chosen the right bait, the fish will get to your line.

The fish assortment varies depending on the location, it also changes depending on the time of day. Some come out only at night, while others can only be found during the day.

Each fish requires a different bait, so make sure you have the right one if you are hoping to catch a specific fish.

What bait should be used?

There are four types of lures in Genshin Impact, each of which can be used to catch different fish. You can purchase recipes for each type of bait by talking to a member of the Fishing Association in Mondstadt.

How long does it take for a fish to respawn in Genshin Impact?

Unlike normal fish that respawn every day, players will have to wait three whole days in real time until the fishing spots fill up with new fish. Once the player has caught all the fish available day and night, there will be no more fish for 72 hours. However, there is another way to get fish if the player needs more than what the current world of the Teyvat map offers them.

Even if players don't have real world friends to join, there is a great matchmaking system (multiplayer in Paimon's menu) to help players find other worlds and other players' Teapots of Serenity to travel to.
